Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Azerbaijan to participate in the 17th ECO Summit 2025, a high-level gathering aimed at boosting regional economic integration and cooperation.
Focus on Regional Cooperation
According to the Foreign Office, the prime minister will present Pakistan’s stance on pressing regional and global challenges. He will reaffirm support for ECO Vision 2025 and push for deeper collaboration in trade, transport, energy, and sustainable development.
Bilateral Engagements on the Sidelines
On the sidelines of the summit, Shehbaz Sharif will hold bilateral meetings with leaders of other ECO countries to strengthen ties and explore opportunities for joint projects.

Dynamic ECO Week Activities
The summit also coincides with ECO Week, held from July 1–4 across several cities in Azerbaijan. This series of forums focuses on youth empowerment, gender inclusion, and enhancing regional economic connectivity.
The previous ECO summit took place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in November 2023 and was attended by then-caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar. The 17th summit marks Pakistan’s continued engagement in fostering economic partnerships across the region.
