Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar delivered a bold statement on Pakistan’s military response, claiming the country gave India an unforgettable lesson during the May 9–10 conflict. Speaking to reporters outside Lahore’s Data Darbar, Dar praised the armed forces and national unity, saying Pakistan’s decisive actions earned global respect.
Military Success and Global Recognition
Dar credited Pakistan’s military for downing six Indian fighter jets during the conflict. “We faced a larger enemy and emerged victorious by the grace of God,” he said. He added that both the civil and military leadership acted decisively, safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty.
He emphasized that Pakistan’s role on the global stage has grown stronger, citing its current presidency of the UN Security Council. Dar noted the international community acknowledged Pakistan’s measured and effective response to Indian aggression.

Rejects Political Speculations
Addressing rumors of a meeting between former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and PTI founder Imran Khan, Dar dismissed them as baseless. “There has been no visit to Adiala Jail, and no such meeting took place,” he clarified.
Political Unity During Crisis
Dar highlighted how the government reached out to all political parties during the crisis. “When India attacked, we stood united. The world saw our collective strength,” he said. He added that while cooperation is open, legal accountability will continue for those who violated laws.
Support for Allies and Peace in Region
He also expressed solidarity with Iran, condemning Israeli attacks and stressing the importance of regional peace. “Iran is our brother. Their parliament chanted ‘Thank You Pakistan,’ and Pakistani flags were seen at their martyrs’ funerals,” Dar said.
Economic Stability and Progress
Turning to the economy, Dar noted that inflation is falling, job opportunities are rising, and the country is recovering from past crises. “In 2022, we were on the brink of default. Political sacrifices were made to save the economy,” he said, crediting Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership.
He also praised Pakistan’s forces for continuing to combat terrorism, saying, “Our brave soldiers are sending extremists to hell.”
