Pakistan’s nuclear deterrence remains fully secure and invincible, said Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry during an interview with Al Jazeera on Wednesday. He affirmed that Pakistan’s nuclear program is under strict safeguards and poses no risk to global stability.
Nuclear Capability is Not to Be Challenged
The DG ISPR stressed that Pakistan is a responsible, declared nuclear state. “No one can dare target our nuclear capability,” he asserted. He warned that any misadventure against a nuclear-armed nation would lead to catastrophic consequences.
Pakistan’s Support for Iran Based on Principles
Addressing Pakistan’s position on the Israel-Iran conflict, Gen Chaudhry reaffirmed Islamabad’s principled support for Tehran. “Iran is our brotherly neighbor. However Our support is grounded in the UN Charter, international law, and Islamic values,” he noted. He dismissed any speculation about Pakistan being a future target in the region, citing the country’s strategic standing.

India’s ‘State-Sponsored Terrorism’
Turning to India, the DG ISPR said New Delhi continues to support terrorism aimed at destabilizing Pakistan, especially in Balochistan. “India’s role in sponsoring terrorism is well-documented and even admitted by its own officials,” he stated. He called Ajit Doval, India’s National Security Advisor, the architect of this campaign.
“This is a systematic conspiracy to weaken Pakistan from within,” he emphasized.
The Threat of ‘Khawarij’ and Extremism
Gen Chaudhry also spoke about extremist groups, referring to them as “Khawarij,” a term rooted in Islamic history for those who rebel against the state. “Only the state can declare jihad—not individuals or groups,” he said. He warned that India-backed militants, described as “Fitna al-Hindustan,” are fueling instability in Pakistan’s sensitive regions.
In conclusion He noted that countries like the US and Canada have already recognized Indian-sponsored terrorism on their soil, reinforcing Pakistan’s claims.
