Six Killed in Gaza as Israeli Strikes Hit School Shelter and Civilians
Fresh Israeli strikes in Gaza on Friday killed at least six Palestinians, including five sheltering in a school in Jabalia, according to Gaza’s civil defense agency. The latest escalation adds to the growing humanitarian crisis as the war against Hamas enters its 22nd month.
School Shelter Targeted
In northern Gaza’s Jabalia Al-Nazla area, an Israeli airstrike struck the Halima Al-Saadia School, which was being used as a shelter for displaced families. The civil defense agency confirmed five people were killed in the attack, with several others injured.
Casualties in Gaza City and Nuseirat
Separately, a strike on Gaza City left at least one person dead and others wounded. In central Gaza’s Nuseirat, Al-Awda Hospital reported multiple casualties after Israeli troops allegedly opened fire on civilians gathered near an aid distribution site.

Military Silence and Communication Barriers
The Israeli military has not issued an official statement regarding these incidents. Independent verification remains difficult due to media restrictions and limited access to affected areas across the enclave.
Escalation in Khan Yunis
Residents in southern Gaza report heavy gunfire, airstrikes, and artillery shelling near Khan Yunis.
A local witness speaking to AFP anonymously described the area as “devastated,” citing continuous destruction and fear among the remaining population. “The situation remains extremely difficult — intense gunfire, intermittent airstrikes, and ongoing destruction,” they said.
Crisis Deepens Amid Long War
The conflict, which began nearly two years ago, has now left thousands dead and millions displaced. Civilian infrastructure such as hospitals, schools, and shelters has repeatedly come under fire.
The repeated targeting of aid centers and shelters has intensified international calls for an immediate ceasefire and accountability for attacks on civilian sites.
