Authorities in Islamabad have taken action against online scams by arresting five foreign nationals accused of operating an illegal call centre in the G-10 sector of the capital. The suspects were remanded to police custody for two days by a district and sessions court on Sunday.
NCCIA Cracks Down
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) presented the accused in court after conducting a raid on the call centre. According to the agency, the site served as a hub for fraudulent online activities and was being operated by the foreign nationals. Over 60 local employees were also working at the centre.
Officials said the network was linked to illegal websites and financial fraud operations, targeting unsuspecting individuals through fake digital platforms.

Court Orders Further Interrogation
During the hearing, the prosecutor argued that the suspects were part of a well-organised cybercrime ring and that their extended custody was essential for deeper investigation. “We need to interrogate the accused further to uncover the full extent of their network,” the prosecutor told the court.
Accepting the request, the court granted physical remand until July 16 and instructed police to produce the accused again on that date.
Support Network Under Scrutiny
A spokesperson for the NCCIA confirmed that the raid was carried out following a tip-off regarding illegal cyber activities. Authorities have also launched investigations into those who provided the suspects with logistical support and protection in Pakistan.
“This operation is part of a broader crackdown on international cybercrime networks operating within our borders,” the spokesperson added.
The case highlights growing concerns over digital fraud and the misuse of call centres for illegal purposes. As online scams become increasingly complex and global, Pakistani authorities appear determined to tighten enforcement and close security loopholes.
Further arrests and legal actions are expected in the coming days as the investigation continues to unfold.
