Parvez, Mustafizur Star as Bangladesh Humble Pakistan

Parvez Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman powered Bangladesh to a dominant T20 win over Pakistan, crushing the visitors by nine wickets in a one-sided contest defined by sharp bowling and clean hitting. Their commanding performance marked another step in Bangladesh’s T20 resurgence.

Mustafizur Makes History

Bangladesh’s bowlers choked Pakistan from the start. Mustafizur Rahman led the charge with a stunning four-over spell, giving away just six runs and taking two wickets. He dismissed Khushdil Shah, who had struck a six and a four in a struggling 17 off 23 balls. The very next delivery, Mustafizur nearly trapped Faheem Ashraf lbw, but captain Litton Das wasn’t convinced. Replays later showed the ball hitting all three stumps—three reds—but the chance was gone.

Unfazed, Mustafizur completed his quota with career-best T20I figures. His 2 for 6 is now the most economical four-over spell by a Bangladeshi in T20 internationals.

Pakistan Collapse at the End

Pakistan stumbled to 110 all out. The innings ended in dramatic fashion with three wickets falling in the final over. Taskin Ahmed removed two batters, while the third wicket came through a run-out. The collapse capped a forgettable outing for Pakistan’s batters, who never found momentum after early losses.

Rocky Start for Bangladesh

Chasing a modest target of 111, Bangladesh began with jitters. Tanzid Hasan fell in the very first over, caught at mid-on off debutant Salman Mirza’s bowling. Mirza claimed a second scalp when Litton Das edged one to slip, where Khushdil took a sharp catch.

With two wickets down early, Pakistan brought in Saim Ayub to bowl the next over. The move puzzled many, and Bangladesh took full advantage. Parvez Hossain launched Ayub for a massive six over midwicket. Towhid Hridoy followed up with another big hit, this time over long-on. Momentum had shifted.

Parvez and Hridoy Counterattack

The fourth over brought more aggression. Parvez smashed Mirza over the bowler’s head with a spectacular one-handed shot. Bangladesh, now on the front foot, never looked back.

Pakistan’s fielding woes continued. Hridoy was dropped twice—first on 12 when Abrar Ahmed misjudged a catch at deep third, and again on 30 when wicketkeeper Mohammad Haris spilled a chance in the ninth over.

Parvez, meanwhile, remained calm and clinical. He struck two more sixes off Abrar and Mohammad Nawaz in the 11th and 12th overs. Hridoy eventually fell for 36, caught by Abbas Afridi, but the damage was already done.

Parvez Shines with the Bat

Jaker Ali, coming in next, played aggressively from the start. He cracked two boundaries in his first four deliveries. Parvez then stepped up again. He hammered Faheem Ashraf over mid-off, followed by a whipped six to bring up his fifty. One ball later, he launched another flat-batted six over mid-on.

Bangladesh needed only six runs from the final six overs. Haris dropped Parvez once more, this time on 55, summing up Pakistan’s poor day in the field.

Fittingly, Jaker finished the game with a well-timed pull shot, sealing the win with 27 balls to spare.

Turning Point in Bangladesh’s Campaign

This dominant victory marks a significant moment in Bangladesh’s T20 journey. With bowlers like Mustafizur delivering match-winning spells and young batters like Parvez rising to the occasion, the team looks more balanced than ever.

Pakistan, meanwhile, will need to rethink both their batting approach and tactical decisions, particularly with ball-handling and field placement. Their costly drops and strange bowling choices only worsened their situation.

For now, Bangladesh will celebrate a resounding victory—fueled by pace, power, and precision.
