In an inspiring display of academic success, girls dominated the Matriculation Examination Results 2025 announced by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Malakand on Wednesday. Female students took top positions in both Science and Arts groups, highlighting the growing academic excellence among girls across the region.
Girls Secure Top Positions in Arts Group
In the Arts category, Huma, daughter of Abdul Waheed Khan from Mohsinat Academy, Dir Lower, earned first position with an impressive 1094 marks. Sana Saleem, also from Mohsinat Academy, secured the second position with 1093 marks. Nafsa, a private candidate from Bajaur, shared the second spot, showcasing the strong performance of self-driven students outside the regular school system.
This clean sweep by female students emphasized the continued rise of girls’ performance in traditionally male-dominated exams, with Mohsinat Academy emerging as a standout institution.
Science Group Also Led by Female Students
In the Science group, girls once again led the way. Suman Huma from Dargai, Malakand, achieved first position with 1169 marks. Komal Mahboob of PIMS School and College, Dir Lower, followed closely with 1168 marks, reflecting the razor-thin margin between the top two scorers.
A notable three-way tie for third place occurred between Ayesha Siddiqah of Dar-e-Arqam School, Thana Malakand; Abdul Rehman from Lal Qila School; and Minahil Mujahid from Smart School and College. All three students scored 1055 marks, showing the level of academic competition among students this year.

Celebration and Encouragement at Result Ceremony
The result announcement ceremony took place at BISE Malakand’s premises in Chakdara. It drew a large crowd and featured several prominent guests. Among them were Muhammad Naseem Khan, Chairman of the Malakand Board; Professor Dr. Rasheed Ahmad, Vice Chancellor of the University of Malakand; Ghulam Muhammad Jan, Chief Secretary of the Board; and Muzaffar Syed Advocate, former Provincial Finance Minister.
Speakers at the event praised the students’ hard work and highlighted the importance of academic achievement. They noted that securing a top position should be viewed not as a final goal, but as a stepping stone toward future accomplishments.
A Message of Hope and Determination
While celebrating the success of top achievers, the speakers also shared words of encouragement for students who did not succeed this year. They urged them not to lose hope, but to treat this setback as motivation for future success. The message was clear: resilience and effort are key to long-term academic and personal growth.
Parents and teachers were also acknowledged for their dedication in shaping the educational journeys of these students. The role of educational institutions like Mohsinat Academy, PIMS School, and the University of Malakand was commended for nurturing academic talent in the region.
University of Malakand Praised
The University of Malakand received special recognition for being one of the most accessible and high-performing universities in the province. Officials announced that admissions for the current year would be granted based on first-year marks. This move aims to reward consistent academic performance and provide opportunities for more students to pursue higher education.
The ceremony also carried a patriotic atmosphere. Attendees raised slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” with passion, showing their pride in the accomplishments of the nation’s youth.
Prizes Awarded to Top Achievers
To recognize the efforts of the top scorers, BISE Malakand awarded cash prizes. Huma, the first position holder in the Arts group, received Rs. 100,000. The second-place winners were given Rs. 85,000 each, and the third-place students received Rs. 70,000 each. These awards served not only as recognition but also as encouragement for future academic pursuits.
The results reflect a strong educational culture growing in Malakand, where both public and private institutions continue to raise the bar. With female students leading the charge, the region has set a promising tone for the future of education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
