Pakistan, Iran Boost Defence Diplomacy in Key Meeting

In a renewed push for regional peace and defence cooperation, Pakistan and Iran pledged to deepen military ties during a high-level meeting held in Islamabad. Defence cooperation was the central theme of talks between Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Iran’s Defence Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasir-Zadeh on Saturday, where both leaders agreed to collaborate more closely on security matters.

Strategic Dialogue in Islamabad

Brigadier General Nasir-Zadeh arrived in Islamabad for discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral defence engagement. His visit came at a time when both countries seek stronger mechanisms to address shared threats, particularly in the context of regional instability and border security.

During their meeting, the two ministers reviewed the full spectrum of military and strategic interests. From regional developments to joint counter-terrorism efforts, both sides showed strong intent to strengthen their defence partnership through trust, diplomacy, and practical collaboration.
