GAZA: At least nine Palestinians have been killed since dawn in a new wave of Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip, medical sources confirmed early Wednesday. The deaths come despite Israeli claims of implementing “tactical pauses” in the fighting to facilitate the delivery of urgently needed humanitarian aid.

Gaza’s health infrastructure, already near collapse, continues to struggle as hospitals receive casualties amid an unrelenting military campaign. The toll on civilians rises steadily, even as international pressure grows for a lasting ceasefire and secure aid corridors.

Israeli Strikes Continue Despite ‘Pauses’

Medical personnel working in Gaza reported that multiple air and artillery strikes occurred overnight and into the early morning. These attacks targeted densely populated areas, killing at least nine people and injuring several others.

Israel’s military previously announced it would enforce limited “tactical pauses” in northern and southern Gaza during specific hours of the day to allow aid trucks safe passage. However, residents and aid seekers on the ground report little change in the intensity of bombardment.

“The situation on the ground contradicts these so-called pauses,” said a paramedic in Khan Younis. “We are receiving dead and wounded every few hours.”

Aid Seekers Face Lethal Force

As famine and malnutrition worsen, Palestinians continue to risk their lives for aid. Crowds gather daily at distribution points in southern Gaza, hoping to collect a bag of flour or basic supplies. However, these gatherings have repeatedly turned deadly.

Mohamed Awad, who was injured while trying to secure food for his children, described the horror of seeking aid under fire. “I climbed the aid truck and grabbed a bag of flour. Suddenly, they fired a grenade at us,” he said from his hospital bed. “They hit young men and women. We saw death in all its forms.”

Eyewitnesses reported live ammunition and drone strikes near distribution sites, even as unarmed civilians tried to retrieve food.

Amal al-Mughir, another survivor, criticized the manner in which aid is delivered. “This is torment. People are starving and still getting attacked. They should deliver aid in a proper way.”

Moscow Condemns West Bank Attack on Diplomatic Vehicle

In a separate development, Russia has condemned an attack by Israeli settlers on a Russian diplomatic vehicle in the occupied West Bank. According to a statement by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, the vehicle was attacked near an illegal settlement, with Israeli troops reportedly present but not intervening.

Moscow described the incident as a “gross violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations” and expressed “bewilderment and disapproval” over the apparent inaction of Israeli military personnel.

The Russian government has formally lodged a protest with Israel over the incident, escalating tensions between the two countries.

Starvation Crisis Deepens

As Israel’s bombardment continues, Gaza faces a deepening humanitarian disaster. The United Nations and humanitarian organizations have repeatedly warned of widespread starvation. Yet, aid trucks remain limited in number, and many face delays or violent attacks while entering the Strip.

International observers report that the current volume of aid falls far short of meeting the population’s needs. The few trucks allowed into Gaza often become flashpoints for violence, with desperate crowds climbing aboard while risking live fire from nearby Israeli forces.

“These people are not combatants,” said a field worker with an international NGO. “They are simply trying to survive.”

A Crisis Beyond the Battlefield

As the Gaza death toll rises, the human cost of this war continues to unfold in hospitals, morgues, and aid lines. The Israeli government maintains its position that military operations are targeting Hamas fighters and infrastructure. However, the growing number of civilian casualties and attacks on aid seekers paint a different picture.

Palestinians in Gaza now face a grim reality: they are being killed not only by bombs and bullets, but also by starvation and neglect. With no political resolution in sight and international efforts for a ceasefire faltering, civilians continue to bear the brunt of the conflict.
