The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that Karachi will remain cloudy and humid over the next three days, with chances of light rain, drizzle or showers, particularly in the morning and night hours. According to the PMD, the city’s maximum temperature is expected to stay between 31°C and 33°C, while the minimum temperature may range from 25°C to 27°C.
Officials said winds are likely to blow from the west and southwest, with sea breezes bringing temporary relief to residents coping with sticky weather. The forecast follows intermittent rain and drizzle in parts of the city earlier this week.

Light Rain and Drizzle Reported Across City
On Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, several areas of Karachi recorded light rainfall and drizzle that continued intermittently until afternoon. Localities including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Korangi, Gurumandir, Saddar, Nazimabad, Malir, DHA, Clifton, Sharea Faisal, North Karachi and Saadi Town reported light showers. The brief spells cooled the air but also added to the humidity, making conditions uncomfortable for commuters in some areas.
The PMD said these isolated showers are expected to continue intermittently during the forecast period. Authorities advised citizens to plan travel accordingly during morning and night hours when drizzle is most likely.
Sea Breezes Expected to Provide Temporary Relief
Meteorologists said westerly and southwesterly winds combined with sea breezes would help disperse heat during the day. However, high humidity levels are likely to persist, especially at night. The PMD urged residents to stay hydrated and take precautions during prolonged outdoor activities.
High Flood Levels at Sindh Barrages
Separately, the PMD warned of high flood levels at Guddu and Sukkur barrages on the River Indus, while Kotri Barrage is witnessing medium-level flooding. As of Wednesday morning, inflows at Guddu Barrage stood at 581,086 cusecs, Sukkur at 571,800 cusecs and Kotri at 300,853 cusecs.
Authorities in Sindh are monitoring the floodwater flow and reinforcing embankments near vulnerable stretches. Disaster management teams have been placed on alert to respond to any potential breaches or displacement.
Residents Advised to Remain Cautious
The PMD advised Karachi residents to remain cautious during periods of drizzle and light rain, particularly on slippery roads during peak traffic hours. Motorists have been urged to maintain safe speeds and check vehicle brakes.
For communities near the Indus River, local administrations reiterated calls for vigilance as floodwaters pass through Sindh’s major barrages. Relief camps and rescue teams remain on standby to assist affected populations if water levels rise further.
