According to data from Alinea Analytics, the hit first-person shooter  Battlefield 6 — has already generated an estimated $350 million in gross revenue, setting new standards for 2025’s major game releases.

Electronic Arts (EA) appears to have struck gold with Battlefield 6. The latest title in the long-running franchise has become one of the fastest-selling games of the year, second only to EA Sports FC 26.

Alinea Analytics shared that Battlefield 6 outperformed other premium titles in early sales, including Monster Hunter Wilds and Borderlands 4. While FC 26 sold 7.7 million units during its first week, Battlefield 6 followed closely with 7 million, showing EA’s continued dominance in both sports and action gaming.

Steam Leads the Market

The report highlights that more than half of Battlefield 6’s sales came from Steam, which contributed over 3.5 million copies — a massive 55% market share. This segment alone generated more than $220 million in revenue, making PC the top-performing platform for the franchise’s latest installment.

On PlayStation, the game captured a 23.7% share, selling about 1.5 million copies. Notably, 86% of these PlayStation purchases were digital, reflecting a broader trend of players shifting toward downloadable content. Xbox held a 19.6% share, selling more than 1.2 million copies in the first five days.

Player Distribution Across Platforms

In terms of player base, the numbers mirror the sales breakdown. Steam leads with 3.8 million active players, followed by 1.8 million on PlayStation and 1.4 million on Xbox. These figures show a balanced spread of engagement across platforms, though PC gamers continue to dominate Battlefield’s online community.

Within just 24 hours of launch, Battlefield 6 became the biggest game in the franchise’s history on Steam, reaching an impressive 700,000 concurrent players. This milestone came shortly after the game’s open beta, which had already set participation records for the series.

Regional Trends and Audience Insights

Geographically, the United States accounts for nearly one-third of the game’s total player base on Steam. China follows with 15% of the market share, while Japan represents about 3%. This global reach reinforces Battlefield 6’s status as a worldwide phenomenon.

The game’s appeal has also extended to audiences traditionally dominated by other popular shooters. According to data from Video Game Insights, there is a strong overlap between Battlefield 6 players and those of Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Grand Theft Auto V: Legacy Edition. Specifically, 87.7% of Battlefield 6 players have played Call of Duty, showing the shared audience within the competitive shooter genre.

Comparison with Competing Titles

While Battlefield 6 stands near the top of 2025’s sales charts, Alinea’s data places EA Sports FC 26 slightly ahead at 7.7 million units. Other notable titles, such as Monster Hunter Wilds, achieved 6.2 million sales, while Borderlands 4 reached 2.3 million.

Meanwhile, smaller but significant releases like Split Fiction sold 1.3 million copies, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 followed closely at 1.2 million. This comparison highlights Battlefield 6’s exceptional performance among blockbuster releases this year.

Following a mixed response to earlier franchise entries, this new release has reignited excitement among players and critics alike.
