Gaza food shortages have reportedly left grocery store shelves empty for a second consecutive week, as Palestinian journalist Motasem A. Dalloul reports new Israeli restrictions on the entry of food, including fruits and vegetables, and other goods into the besieged territory.
Dalloul, who shares updates from Gaza on X through his account @AbujomaaGaza, said grocery shelves had remained empty for the second week because of the reported restrictions.
The journalist’s post raises fresh concerns about access to essential food supplies for Palestinians already facing severe humanitarian challenges following prolonged conflict, displacement and damage to civilian infrastructure.

Gaza Residents Face Food Supply Concerns
According to Dalloul’s account, the reported restrictions affect fruits, vegetables and other goods entering Gaza. However, the full scope of the restrictions and the availability of alternative food supplies could not be independently verified from the post alone.
Limited food availability can make it harder for families to obtain nutritious meals, particularly for children, older people and other vulnerable residents. When supplies decline, households with limited incomes can also face greater difficulty purchasing essential items.
Fresh produce is an important part of a balanced diet. Prolonged shortages can increase nutritional risks, especially when families have few alternatives.
Humanitarian Situation Remains a Concern
Reliable access to food and other essential supplies is critical for Gaza’s civilian population. Restrictions on commercial goods and humanitarian deliveries can place additional pressure on local markets and relief operations.
