K-Electric Issues Eid ul Adha Safety Guidelines for Citizens

K-Electric has issued safety guidelines for citizens ahead of Eid ul Adha and urged the public to follow precautionary measures during sacrificial activities to avoid accidents and electrical hazards.

The utility company advised residents not to tie sacrificial animals to electricity poles or place them near transformers and other electrical installations. Officials warned that such actions could lead to serious accidents during the Eid holidays.

Citizens Asked to Avoid Water Near Electrical Installations

In its public advisory, K-Electric also appealed to people not to use water near electrical infrastructure during Eid ul Adha. The company said water around transformers, wires, or poles could increase the risk of electric shocks and other dangerous incidents.

The power utility stressed the importance of maintaining a safe distance from all electrical installations during the sacrifice process.

Warning Against Decorations on Electricity Poles

K-Electric instructed citizens not to install decorative items, banners, or lights on electricity poles and overhead wires during Eid celebrations.

Officials stated that hanging decorations on electrical infrastructure could damage the system and pose life threatening risks for residents.

The company also warned the public against illegal electricity connections, commonly known as kundas, saying such practices create severe safety hazards and can endanger both human lives and property.

Special Precautions Urged in Cattle Markets

A spokesperson for K-Electric said cattle market organisers and visitors should strictly follow safety standards, especially in areas where electrical installations are present.

The company advised market administrations to ensure that animals remain away from transformers, exposed wiring, and electric poles to prevent accidents.

Authorities have also encouraged traders and citizens to remain alert and cooperate with safety teams during the Eid period.

Emergency Teams Put on High Alert

K-Electric stated that special response teams have been placed on high alert to handle emergencies during Eid ul Adha.

The utility company urged citizens to immediately report any dangerous or suspicious electrical situations by calling its helpline at 118.

The advisory comes as thousands of citizens prepare for Eid ul Adha celebrations across Karachi and other areas served by K-Electric, with cattle markets witnessing increased activity ahead of the religious festival.
