Pakistan sends best wishes to the Christian Community

The world is celebrating Christmas while significant people from all spheres of life in Pakistan are wishing Christian community

Karachi: The Christian community across the country is celebrating Christmas today and the President, Prime Minister, and other government officials have sent their best wishes to the Christian community.

On 25 December, special ceremonies are being held in churches across Pakistan in which prayers are being offered for the development and prosperity of Pakistan.

Christmas greetings and messages

In the message to the Christian community, Prime Minister Imran Khan extended his heartfelt Christmas greetings to Christian brothers in Pakistan and around the world. He wrote on his Twitter account, “On this happy occasion of Christmas,”

I extend my heartiest felicitations and wish #MerryChristmas to our Christian brethren in Pakistan and all over the world.” He continued.

He said in a statement issued from the Prime Minister’s Office that Christmas is a reminder of the values ​​that Jesus had observed in his life.

Not only had he healed the wounds of humanity but also Preached the divine values ​​of tolerance, love, and compassion.

He said that Christmas is an opportunity to reflect Jesus’ message of love, peace, tolerance, and compassion for humanity, adding that the government believes in maintaining the sanctity of existence and providing equal opportunities to all Pakistanis.

The Prime Minister further said that he is delighted to acknowledge the diverse and fruitful role played by all the minorities living in Pakistan, especially the Christian community, in the socio-economic development of the country.

The President of Pakistan also wished on the occasion and wrote on his Twitter account to greet,

“I extend my heartfelt felicitations to our Christian brethren in Pakistan and all over the world on the joyous occasion of Christmas and wish them a happy new year. Christmas is an occasion to share the happiness and blessings of God with our loved ones,” said President Dr. Arif Alvi

Other PTI leaders, Like Asad Umar, took to social media to wish Christmas and greeted,

Sayed Zulfi Bukhari used the same platform as others and “Wishing a Merry Xmas to all Christian brothers & sisters in Pakistan and everyone celebrating around the world!”

On the occasion of Christmas, PPP leaders did not lag behind and extended Christmas greetings to the Christian community in Pakistan and the world over.”

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz also wished the Christian community a Merry Christmas.

This year’s celebrations have been affected by the deadly virus, which has killed more than 9,000 people in the country uptil now.

The NCOC has decided to keep the duration of the celebrations to a minimum and in public spheres.

It also suggested that disinfectant spraying on ritual trees should be done properly along with decorations, arranging a thermal screening of people at church entrances while priests gave sermons on viruses and precautions.
