Famous singer, Rihanna’s support for farmers in India garnered the attention of celebrities around the world and the Indian government.

On Tuesday, the ‘advocate of protesting farmers’ shared CNN’s story.

And tweeted “Why aren’t we talking about this?!”

Minutes after Barbados-born superstar, RiRi shared the Tweet, the Swedish teen known for her climate activism, Greta Thunberg showed her support for “#FarmersProtests in India” too.

Kyle Kuzma, an American basketball player, retweeted Rihanna’s statement, saying, “We should be talking about this!”

Mia Khalifa, a Lebanese-American media personality also supported Rihanna and wrote on tweeter “Confirming I have in fact regained consciousness, and would like to thank you for your concern, albeit unnecessary. Still standing with the farmers, though”.

Dehli police even filed a case against Greta Thunberg for standing in solidarity with poor farmers in India. in the case against the activist, Indian police accused her of “promoting conspiracy and enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, and language”.

However, despite the wrong allegations, the Swedish teen still stands in support of the protesting farmers.

She remarked with a grace that “No amount of hate, threats or violation of human right will ever change that. #FarmersProtest

After the tweet sparked so much debate on the issue, Indian media began starting another narrative to tweak the truth.

Meena Haris, an American lawyer and a niece of US VP Kamala Harris, also came in support of Rihanna, saying “It’s no coincidence that the world’s oldest democracy was attacked not even a month ago, and as we speak, the most populous democracy is under assault. This is related. We ALL should be outraged by India’s internet shutdowns and paramilitary violence against farmer protesters.”

But the Indian extremist couldn’t face the truth.

Even an Indian famous actress came in support of the narrative #FarmersProtest.

Federal Minister for Science & Technology, Fawad Chaudhry retweeted RiRi’s massage and said, “You have earned the respect of every Farmer of the world and particularly of #Punjabis all around the world you have shown your heart is on the right place…. loads if respect #FarmersProtests #Rehana

Indians’ Reaction: #IndiaAgainstPropaganda

The world is surprised at the two-faced hypocrisy of Indian celebrities and the Modi-led government. Enraged on the defensive stance, the users soon started hashtagging #SpinelessCelebs and #Shameonbollywood. The Indian celebrities and athletes take on the issue is quite different from the rest of the world. They are calling the reaction of the world #IndiaAgainstPropaganda.

Many Bollywood famous names like Akshay KumarKaran Johar, and Suneil Shetty have backed the Indian government.
