WhatsApp revealed on Friday that the voice and video calls feature, which is currently only accessible on iOS and Android phones, will be available on the desktop edition of the app as well.
“WhatsApp voice and video calls are now available for anyone on desktop,” WABetaInfo announced on Twitter.
WhatsApp is sending out official status alerts to customers to let them know that the application is now available on the web edition of the app.
WhatsApp reported press stories last month that the app’s video and voice calling capabilities are also available on the platform’s desktop edition.
“Sometimes you just need a little more room, “WhatsApp said when the new feature was released.
WhatsApp had confirmed, last month, that the video and voice call options will become available to those who want to use the application on the desktop.
For the past two years or so, the software has reportedly been working on the deployment of calls on WhatsApp Web/Desktop (a phone connection is still required).
