Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has issued a stern warning to Israel after the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched a missile attack on Israeli territory. The attack was carried out in retaliation for the killings of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

In a statement following the missile strike, Pezeshkian made it clear that while Iran is not seeking conflict, it will not hesitate to respond to any threats. “Netanyahu should know that Iran is not belligerent, but it stands firmly against any threat,” he emphasized. The attack, he explained, was in defense of Iran’s interests and citizens, and was a direct response to Israeli aggression.

The president further stressed that this action was intended to protect Iran and maintain peace in the region. “Based on legitimate rights and with the aim of peace and security for Iran and the region, a decisive response was given to the aggression of the Zionist regime,” Pezeshkian wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) account. He also warned Israel not to underestimate Iran’s capabilities. “This is only a corner of our power. Do not enter into a conflict with Iran,” he added, sending a clear message of Iran’s military readiness.

Beirut Experiences Another Sleepless Night Amid Airstrikes

On Tuesday, Iran fired approximately 180 missiles at Israel, triggering alarms throughout the region. The missile attack, which came as a direct response to the recent assassinations of Haniyeh and Nasrallah, caused widespread concern across the Middle East.

However, most of the missiles were intercepted by Israeli air defenses or allied forces before they could reach their targets. Sirens blared across Israeli cities as the attack unfolded, but Israel’s military quickly announced that a significant number of the missiles had been successfully intercepted. According to Israeli officials, the attack lasted about an hour.

While the strike did not cause severe damage or widespread casualties, it marked a significant escalation in tensions between Iran and Israel. The incident has led to heightened fears of further military confrontations, as both nations exchange threats.

Israeli Military Forces Prepare for Potential Retaliation

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed that Iran would face consequences for its actions. In response, Israeli military forces remain on high alert, preparing for potential retaliatory strikes. At the same time, Netanyahu has reached out to international allies, seeking support in dealing with Iran’s aggression.

The missile strike has also drawn reactions from global leaders, many of whom have urged caution to avoid a broader conflict in the already volatile region. Analysts warn that while this particular incident has not resulted in significant casualties, the growing tension between Iran and Israel could lead to a larger military confrontation if diplomatic efforts do not prevail.

As the situation unfolds, the world watches closely, concerned about the broader implications for Middle East stability. Both Iran and Israel have made their positions clear, but the prospect of further escalation looms large, with both sides refusing to back down from their hardened stances.
