The Pakistan cricket selectors have announced 15-member squads for their upcoming tours to Australia and Zimbabwe. Pakistan will play three ODIs and three T20Is in each country. The Australia tour runs from November 4 to 18, while the Zimbabwe tour will be from November 24 to December 5. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi will reveal Pakistan’s white-ball captain at a media conference in Lahore on Sunday at 3:30 PM.

Key Players’ Rotations

Star players Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, and Shaheen Shah Afridi return for the Australia series after a break from the last two Tests against England. However, they will be rested for the Zimbabwe tour, adhering to Pakistan’s player rotation policy. Similarly, Mohammad Rizwan will be available for the Australia matches and Zimbabwe ODIs but will sit out the Zimbabwe T20Is.

New Faces and Domestic Performers

The squads include several uncapped players, following the selectors’ goal to provide opportunities to domestic talent. In the ODI squad, Aamir Jamal, Arafat Minhas, Faisal Akram, Haseebullah, Muhammad Irfan Khan, and Saim Ayub will debut. Meanwhile, Jahandad Khan and Salman Ali Agha are new additions to the T20I squad. This rotation aligns with Pakistan’s strategy for the ICC Champions Trophy and future tournaments.

Kamran Ghulam, Omair Bin Yousuf, and Sufyan Moqim, who made their national side debut in recent limited-overs matches, are also included. Kamran previously served as a concussion substitute in an ODI against New Zealand in January 2023, while Omair and Sufyan played in the T20I format at the Asian Games.

Fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain returns to the ODI squad after impressing with 17 wickets in the Champions One-Day Cup in Faisalabad last month. He last played for Pakistan in an ODI against New Zealand in January 2023.

Squad Composition and Travel Plans

Apart from Babar, Naseem, Rizwan, Salman, and Shaheen, four other players—Arafat Minhas, Haris Rauf, Haseebullah, and Muhammad Irfan Khan—are selected for both formats. Six players, including Aamir Jamal and Abdullah Shafique, are chosen only for the ODIs. They will be replaced by T20 specialists Jahandad Khan, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Omair Bin Yousuf, Sahibzada Farhan, Sufyan Moqim, and Usman Khan for the Zimbabwe T20Is.

Seven ODI squad members, led by Babar Azam, will leave for Melbourne on October 28, with the rest following on October 29. Pakistan’s white-ball coach, Gary Kirsten, will join them there.
