Singer Zeeshan Ali, the soulful voice behind Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum’s second OST Sajna Da Dil Torya, shared the backstory of the hit track. In a recent virtual interview with an Indian media outlet, Ali revealed that he composed the song nearly a decade ago at the start of his career.

The song, originally titled Bhul Hoyi, was the first track Ali ever recorded. He expressed his long-standing wish for the song to have a music video telling a story. However, limited resources prevented him from producing one at the time.

The Call from Fahad Mustafa

Years later, actor-producer Fahad Mustafa approached Zeeshan Ali for an OST for Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum. At that moment, Ali was preparing for a month-long U.S. tour and had only six days to create the song.

Despite repeated efforts, he struggled to produce a new track that fit Mustafa’s vision. That’s when Ali’s wife reminded him of Bhul Hoyi. He sent the song to Mustafa, who approved it almost immediately.
