Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is recovering after a violent knife attack at his residence in Bandra West, Mumbai. The incident occurred on the night of January 15-16 during a break-in attempt. Khan sustained six stab wounds and is currently receiving treatment at Lilavati Hospital.

The attack happened around 2:30 am when the intruder broke into the actor’s upscale residence. A video released on Friday shows the suspect entering the building with his face covered and carrying a bag.
The Maharashtra Minister of State for Home, Yogesh Kadam, confirmed that the suspect is not linked to any underworld gang. He clarified, “The detained suspect is not affiliated with any gang or criminal network.” Police have recorded statements from Saif’s wife, Kareena Kapoor, as part of their investigation.
Hospitalization and Insurance Claim
Saif Ali Khan was admitted to Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre on January 16. He is receiving treatment for injuries classified as “unspecified body region.” He is currently in a suite room at the hospital.
Saif holds a health insurance policy with Niva Bupa. A claim form leaked online revealed that he filed for Rs 35.95 lakh for medical expenses. Of this amount, Rs 25 lakh has been approved by the insurer.
A spokesperson for Niva Bupa confirmed the claim. They stated, “A cashless pre-authorization request was sent to us upon his hospitalization, and we approved an initial amount to start the treatment.”
The leaked document also revealed sensitive information, including Saif’s member ID, diagnosis, and anticipated discharge date of January 21, 2025.
