The Sindh government is taking a major step toward sustainable transportation by inviting a Chinese electric vehicle (EV) bus manufacturer to set up a production plant in Karachi. Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, during a meeting in Beijing, extended the invitation, highlighting the province’s commitment to modernizing public transport and reducing carbon emissions.

Government Support for Green Energy

Sindh Minister for Energy, Planning, and Development Syed Nasir Hussain Shah also attended the meeting and assured full government support. He emphasized that Sindh is dedicated to promoting green energy and electric mobility.

To attract investment, Minister Memon announced several incentives for the Chinese company. These include tax exemptions, land allocation, and a streamlined regulatory process. He stated that the government is ready to facilitate investors to ensure a smooth and efficient setup of the EV bus plant.

Establishing an EV bus manufacturing plant in Karachi would bring multiple benefits.
