In an electrifying match of PSL 2025, Quetta Gladiators pulled off a stunning five-run win over Karachi Kings, who suffered a dramatic batting collapse during what appeared to be a comfortable chase of 143 runs.
Chasing 143, the Kings seemed in full control. Tim Seifert powered the innings with a fiery 47 off 26 balls, cracking five fours and two sixes. James Vince supported him well with a steady 30 from 29 deliveries. Despite the early loss of skipper David Warner for just 4, Karachi reached 92 for 2 and looked set to cruise home—needing just 54 runs from 54 balls with eight wickets in hand.
But what followed was one of the most shocking collapses in PSL history.

Collapse of the Kings
Quetta’s bowlers turned the match around in spectacular fashion. The Kings lost five wickets for just 15 runs in a span of a few overs. Shan Masood (9), Omair Yousuf (11), Khushdil Shah (0), Mohammad Nabi (4), and Abbas Afridi (0) fell in quick succession, sending Karachi tumbling to 107 for 7.
Although Hasan Ali attempted a late revival with a quickfire 24 off 13 balls, including three boundaries and a six, the damage was irreversible. Karachi Kings finished at 137 for 8, falling just five runs short of the target.
Quetta’s Bowlers Deliver Under Pressure
Quetta’s bowling attack, led by Mohammad Wasim and Mohammad Amir, took two wickets each and kept things tight during the death overs. Abrar Ahmed and Khurram Shahzad also claimed crucial wickets, sealing the Gladiators’ unexpected but hard-fought victory.
Gladiators’ Struggle with the Bat
Earlier, Quetta were bowled out for 142 in 19.3 overs. After opting to bowl first, Karachi got immediate results as Hasan Ali dismantled Quetta’s top order. He removed Saud Shakeel for 6 and Finn Allen for a golden duck in the same over. Rilee Rossouw soon followed, clean bowled for 10.
Kusal Mendis brought some life to the innings with a brisk 36 off 22, but wickets continued to fall. Only Faheem Ashraf (43 off 27) and Hasan Nawaz (35 off 34) managed to resist. The rest of the batting lineup crumbled under pressure.
Hasan Ali starred with the ball, picking up 3 for 33. Abbas Afridi and Mir Hamza provided strong support, restricting Quetta to what seemed a chaseable total—until Karachi’s dramatic downfall.
