In a strategic push for African market expansion, Ethiopia will host a single-country exhibition for Pakistani products from May 15 to 17, 2025, offering manufacturers new trade routes and attractive incentives. The announcement was made by Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, during his visit to the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) in Karachi.

Incentives for Investors

Ethiopia is offering major benefits for investors, including a 10-year tax holiday for exports made from its territory and up to 70% revenue support for investments.

KATI’s Strong Support

KATI President Junaid Naqi welcomed the initiative, calling Ethiopia a timely and viable alternative for Pakistani exporters, especially in the wake of rising U.S. tariffs. “This exhibition is a crucial opportunity to diversify our trade footprint,” Naqi stated. He urged businesses to explore sectors like pharmaceuticals, rice, processed food, and textiles, which have high export potential in Ethiopia.

Stronger Trade Ties

Honorary Consul General Ibrahim Tawab noted that last year, 82 Pakistani delegates visited Ethiopia, and participation is expected to grow this year. He stressed Ethiopia’s reliance on imports as an opportunity for Pakistani exporters to fill market gaps.
