Sikandar Raza and Daryl Mitchell delivered match-winning performances to steer Lahore Qalandars to a thrilling five-wicket victory over Multan Sultans in the 16th match of PSL 10. The crowd at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, witnessed a gripping chase that kept PSL 10 excitement alive.

Lahore’s Chase Led by Raza and Mitchell

Chasing a challenging target of 186 runs, Lahore Qalandars sealed the win with five wickets in hand in the 19th over. The innings began with early trouble when emerging batter Mohammad Naeem fell cheaply for six runs in the second over.

However, Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique steadied the innings with a 33-run stand, lifting the score to 45 by the sixth over. Fakhar played aggressively, scoring 28 off 22 balls, including two sixes in one over, before falling and offering Multan Sultans a glimmer of hope.

Yet, Abdullah Shafique and Daryl Mitchell stitched together a crucial 49-run partnership, regaining control for Lahore. Later, Sikandar Raza’s composure and Mitchell’s steady hand ensured that the team crossed the finish line comfortably.

Multan’s Strong Start Powered by Rizwan and Kamran

Earlier, after being put into bat, Multan Sultans posted a solid 185 for three in their 20 overs. Their start was cautious, reaching only 19 runs in the first five overs. Yasir Khan showed some intent with 24 off 18 balls but was dismissed in Haris Rauf’s over.

Mohammad Rizwan and Usman Khan tried to rebuild with a 21-run partnership before Usman fell after scoring 18 off 14 balls. Shai Hope’s quick dismissal for nine runs further piled pressure on Multan.

Nevertheless, Mohammad Rizwan and Kamran Ghulam shifted the game’s momentum with a formidable 115-run partnership off just 59 balls. Kamran batted aggressively, hitting two fours and four sixes in his 52 off 31 balls. Rizwan, after a cautious start, accelerated in the final overs to finish unbeaten on 76 from 48 balls, smashing six fours and three sixes.

Lahore’s Bowling Highlights

Tom Curran, playing his first game of the season for Lahore Qalandars, impressed with figures of 1 for 24 in four overs. Haris Rauf and Daryl Mitchell picked up one wicket each but leaked runs at crucial stages.

With this win, Lahore Qalandars rejuvenated their PSL 10 campaign, while Multan Sultans will look to bounce back stronger in their next outing.
