The PTI movement is gaining momentum as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur called for open dialogue with state institutions. During a press conference in Lahore on July 13, Gandapur urged institutions to admit their mistakes, ensure accountability, and help steer the country out of crisis. The PTI is preparing to intensify its protest drive, set to peak on August 5—marking two years since party founder Imran Khan’s imprisonment.
Call for Talks and Institutional Reform
Flanked by senior PTI leaders including Salman Akram Raja and Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar, Gandapur invited institutions to sit down and correct the course. He emphasized that constructive dialogue and self-accountability were essential for Pakistan’s future. “Come, talk, admit your errors, and let’s move forward,” he urged.

Imran Khan’s Incarceration
Imran Khan remains imprisoned in multiple cases, including the £190 million graft case. He also faces trials related to the May 9, 2023, protests, which turned violent. While the military blames PTI for orchestrating the riots, Imran insists he was “abducted” and maintains his innocence.
Institutions Accused of Political Overreach
Gandapur criticized state institutions for overstepping their constitutional roles and interfering in political affairs. He claimed their misplaced priorities have contributed to rising terrorism, especially in KP and Balochistan. “Instead of protecting borders, they are chasing PTI workers,” he said.
Movement Timeline and Goals
The PTI has announced a 90-day campaign to reassess its political future. Gandapur stated that if the political path yields no results, a new course of action would be announced. August 5 will mark the movement’s peak through peaceful, constitutional means.
Grassroots Strategy
Rejecting elite-driven politics, PTI is turning to its grassroots network in northern Punjab to build public support. A caravan of KP lawmakers arrived in Lahore via G.T. Road to finalize the strategy. Gandapur assured that Imran Khan is personally leading the campaign, calling on Pakistanis to choose between continued “slavery” or joining the movement for “freedom.”
