The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has launched a special Rs. 75 commemorative coin to honor the courage of Pakistan’s armed forces during the historic Marka-e-Haq. The coin also celebrates Independence Day, reflecting national pride and the country’s enduring commitment to its defenders. The release marks a symbolic gesture of unity, strength, and remembrance.
Purpose Behind the Coin
The commemorative coin pays tribute to the valor displayed in Marka-e-Haq, a defining chapter in Pakistan’s defense history. By issuing the coin on Independence Day, the government aimed to merge two strong national sentiments—freedom and resilience.
Officials described the launch as more than a monetary release. It stands as a national reminder of the sacrifices made to safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty.
Design and Composition
The Rs. 75 coin has been carefully designed to reflect national identity and military strength. It is made of nickel-brass, containing 79% copper, 20% zinc, and 1% nickel.
The coin has a diameter of 30 millimeters and weighs 13.5 grams, giving it a substantial and dignified feel. Each design element has been chosen to reflect Pakistan’s values and the legacy of Marka-e-Haq.

Obverse Side Features
On the obverse side, a waxing crescent moon and five-pointed star rise in a north-west direction at the center. This national symbol is surrounded by the inscription “Islami Jamhuria Pakistan” in Urdu along the upper periphery.
Beneath the crescent, two upward-curving wheat sprigs frame the year of issuance, 2025. On either side of the crescent, the numeral “75” appears boldly on the right, while the word “Rupia” in Urdu script is placed on the left.
This arrangement balances tradition and celebration, capturing the essence of Pakistan’s identity.
Reverse Side Details
The reverse side is a tribute to the armed forces’ contributions during Marka-e-Haq. At the center, the Urdu wording “Marka-e-Haq” appears prominently, with the year “2025” inscribed below it.
Along the top periphery, the phrase “Pakistan Hamesha Zindabad” in Urdu proclaims enduring patriotism. The imagery includes two fighter aircraft positioned on either side, a naval ship, and a multiple rocket launcher system (MRLS).
These symbols highlight the combined strength of Pakistan’s air, naval, and ground forces. Each element has been chosen to represent strategic capability and the unity of the armed services.
Symbolism in the Design
The choice of symbols is deliberate. The crescent and star reflect hope and progress, while the wheat sprigs symbolize prosperity. The reverse side’s military elements depict readiness and national defense.
By combining national emblems with military hardware, the coin tells a story of courage, progress, and resilience in one compact design.
Availability to the Public
The SBP has announced that the coin will be available to the public from August 15, 2025. Citizens can obtain it through the exchange counters of all field offices of the SBP Banking Services Corporation.
This accessibility ensures that the commemorative piece can be collected not just by numismatists but also by ordinary citizens eager to own a piece of history.
Linking History with Independence
Issuing the coin on Independence Day adds a deeper layer of meaning. The day already symbolizes freedom and self-determination. By linking it to Marka-e-Haq, the release reinforces the idea that Pakistan’s independence continues to be safeguarded by its armed forces.
Officials described the coin as a bridge between past victories and future resolve. It serves as a reminder that national security and independence are interdependent.
Public and Cultural Value
Beyond its face value, the coin holds cultural and emotional significance. Collectors may see it as a rare and meaningful addition to their collections. For many Pakistanis, it will be a keepsake representing pride in the armed forces and the nation’s enduring spirit.
The launch also reflects the government’s commitment to honoring historical milestones through tangible symbols. Each such coin becomes a small, enduring archive of Pakistan’s story.
A Lasting Tribute
With its detailed design and meaningful symbolism, the Rs. 75 commemorative coin for Marka-e-Haq stands as a lasting tribute to Pakistan’s defenders. It reminds citizens of the sacrifices made for peace and security, while also celebrating the nation’s progress and unity.
This release by the State Bank of Pakistan merges national pride with historical memory—ensuring that the story of Marka-e-Haq is preserved in the palm of every Pakistani who holds the coin.
