“Dream come true. See you Saturdays,” Slowikowska wrote on Instagram, where she has built a following of more than one million fans. Slowikowska has made her name through digital comedy, regularly creating viral content across Instagram and TikTok. She has nearly 700,000 TikTok followers, and her sketches often spark wide discussion online.
In May, she gained attention for a viral video in which she literally walked a mile in her roommate’s shoes to explore the meaning of masculinity. The sketch earned more than eight million views, highlighting her ability to blend sharp wit with relatable storytelling.

Departure of Canadian Writer Celeste Yim
While Slowikowska joins the cast, another Canadian is departing. Celeste Yim, who had been part of SNL’s writing team for five years, announced last week that they were leaving the show. Yim played a significant role in shaping sketches for Bowen Yang, helping elevate him into one of the program’s standout stars.
In a farewell message, Yim noted, “I was the first ever out trans person to be a writer for SNL. I always felt honoured to be working within the long tradition of queer writing at the show.”
Their departure marks a shift in SNL’s Canadian representation, even as Slowikowska steps into the spotlight as a performer.

SNL has a long tradition of Canadian talent, though this has been less common in recent decades.
