Pakistan is celebrating Eid Milad un Nabi today with utmost reverence, as the nation marks the 1500th birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The day dawned with a 31-gun salute in Islamabad and a 21-gun salute in provincial capitals, accompanied by prayers for peace, progress, and prosperity of the country.

Eid Milad un Nabi observed with devotion

Every year on the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awal, Muslims across Pakistan and around the world observe Eid Milad un Nabi to honor the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who was sent as Rahmatul-lil-Alameen — a mercy for all humanity. This year, the milestone is being commemorated as the Year of Rahmatul-lil-Alameen.

The faithful are participating in conferences, Mahafil-e-Milad, and processions to pay tribute to the Prophet (PBUH). Streets, homes, and mosques have been decorated with lights and banners, while people are distributing food and sweets in markets, orphanages, and neighborhoods.

Nationwide programmes and celebrations

Religious organisations, Milad committees, and community groups have organised processions, seminars, and special programmes to highlight the Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings. The entire country has been illuminated since the sighting of the Rabi-ul-Awal moon, and the festivities will continue throughout the holy month.

Scholars are addressing gatherings, reminding Muslims of the Prophet’s (PBUH) example in justice, equality, compassion, and brotherhood. Faithful participants are renewing their pledge to live their lives according to the Sunnah and divine commands.

Prime Minister calls for unity and compassion

He said the blessed birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) transformed humanity by introducing justice, mercy, and unity nearly 1500 years ago.

The Prime Minister noted that both the National Assembly and Senate passed resolutions to commemorate this milestone as the Year of Rahmatul-lil-Alameen. He emphasized that the life of the Prophet (PBUH) provides a complete model for governance, economics, trade, and social justice.
