Israeli Strike Kills Palestinian in Gaza as Settlers Seize Eight Homes in West Bank

An Israeli drone strike on a tent sheltering displaced Palestinians in central Gaza killed one man and wounded another, while Israeli settlers seized eight Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian medical and official sources.

Medical sources at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital confirmed that the drone fired two missiles at the shelter west of Al-Zawayda. Local sources identified the deceased as Abd Walid Matar.

The attack came amid continued Israeli military operations across the Gaza Strip, including artillery shelling, naval gunfire and drone strikes targeting several locations.

The developments have raised further concerns over the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the security of Palestinian communities in the occupied West Bank as reported violations of the ceasefire continue.

Israeli Attacks Reported Across Gaza

Alongside the deadly strike in central Gaza, Israeli artillery shelled eastern areas of Gaza City, while Israeli naval vessels opened fire towards the coastline.

A separate drone attack targeted the Al-Karama neighbourhood in Gaza City. In southern Gaza, Israeli forces carried out a demolition operation east of Khan Younis.

The incidents followed additional attacks reported on Tuesday, when Israeli bombardments and injuries sustained in earlier incidents claimed three Palestinian lives. Among those killed was a young girl who died after a drone struck a tent near Gaza Municipality Park.

These attacks have added to the toll on Palestinians living in temporary shelters after being displaced from their homes during the conflict.

Gaza Ceasefire Violations Claim More Lives

The latest incidents occurred despite a ceasefire agreement that came into effect on October 10, 2025.

According to figures released by Gaza’s Health Ministry, reported Israeli ceasefire violations have killed 1,599 Palestinians and injured another 5,774.

The figures highlight the continuing human cost of violence during the truce, particularly for civilians living in densely populated areas and makeshift displacement camps.

For displaced families, tents and temporary shelters remain vulnerable locations, offering limited protection against military attacks and the wider destruction affecting the territory.

Settlers Seize Eight Palestinian Homes Near Jericho

Separately, Israeli settlers seized eight Palestinian homes on Wednesday in Al-Duyuk al-Tahta, a village west of Jericho in the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

The settlers reportedly arrived with their families, broke into the properties and smashed their doors before occupying the houses. The residents were away when the homes were taken over.

Israeli military vehicles subsequently entered Jericho and nearby refugee camps, according to Palestinian reports.

The incident adds to growing concerns over settlement-related activity and the displacement of Palestinian families across the occupied territory.

Israel Confiscates More Palestinian Land

In another development, the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported that Israeli authorities had confiscated 2,536 dunams of Palestinian land, equivalent to approximately 627 acres, across three villages northwest of Ramallah.

The affected areas include Beitillu, Al-Mazra’a al-Qibliya and Deir Ammar.

According to the commission, the land was designated as “state land”, a measure intended to facilitate settlement expansion near the Israeli settlement outpost of Kerem Reim.

The reported confiscation represents another development in the expansion of Israeli settlements across the occupied West Bank.

Nearly 750,000 Israeli Settlers in Occupied West Bank

Approximately 750,000 Israeli settlers currently live in 194 settlements and around 400 outposts across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, according to the figures provided in the report.

The international community widely considers Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories illegal under international law. Israel disputes this position.

The latest developments in Gaza and the West Bank highlight the continuing challenges facing Palestinian civilians, from attacks on displacement shelters to home seizures and land confiscations.
