In the latest escalation in the Pakistan India conflict, Islamabad has warned it will respond with the “full spectrum” of power, including nuclear capabilities, if India initiates military aggression or attempts to disrupt Pakistan’s water resources. The statement came amid growing regional tensions and follows intelligence claims of possible Indian strikes.
Leaked Strike Plans Raise Alarm
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Muhammad Khalid Jamali, told Russian broadcaster RT that Islamabad possesses leaked documents revealing Indian plans to strike specific areas in Pakistan. “The threat is imminent,” he stated, adding that Pakistan is fully prepared to defend its sovereignty.
Kashmir Attack Fuels Hostility
Tensions have soared since the April 22 attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), where several civilians were killed. India blamed Pakistani-linked militants for the incident in Baisaran Valley, intensifying cross-border accusations. Pakistan firmly denied any involvement and called for an international investigation involving neutral countries like China and Russia.

Ambassador Jamali also warned India against violating the Indus Waters Treaty.

Nuclear Deterrence and Call for Restraint
Despite the strong warnings, Jamali emphasized the need for caution, noting both nations are nuclear-armed. “This reality makes it critical to de-escalate tensions rather than escalate them,” he said.
Diplomatic Fallout Deepens
In reaction to the Kashmir incident, India has expelled Pakistani diplomats, suspended visa services, and sealed the land border. Pakistan has mirrored these actions, further straining diplomatic ties. New Delhi has also announced additional economic measures to isolate Islamabad.
Global Community Watches Closely
As the war of words intensifies, international observers are urging both nations to avoid conflict. The possibility of a military confrontation between two nuclear powers has raised global concerns, prompting renewed calls for dialogue and restraint.
