World’s second-largest economy, China has decided to enter a new phase after curbing the zero covid policy it placed on a population of 1.4 billion people.
The state media of the Communist party’s newspaper suggests that China is preventing the spread of covid infections admirably. China’s capital Beijing has also dropped all quarantine policies and opened the financial markets to the world.
Moreover, the state media suggests that ‘Today the virus is weak, we are stronger.’
However, health officials in China claim a different story. The health officials mention that China is facing spreading infections at a rapid pace that has filled the hospitals and overwhelmed the crematoriums.
The World Health Organization also believes that China is under reporting the rate of infection and deaths due to Covid. Recently China reported that 5000 people died on 8 January. But the health officials and WHO claim that these figures are not correct.
