A high-level meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, is set to discuss the legal action against Islamabad police. The meeting will address the recent raid on the K-P House in Islamabad, with the cabinet expected to approve measures to challenge the police action.
This cabinet meeting will also review 18 additional agenda items related to provincial governance and administrative matters.
CDA Seals K-P House Blocks
Before the raid, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) had begun sealing parts of K-P House in Islamabad, citing violations of building codes. Several blocks were closed as CDA enforced regulations.
According to CDA, the sealing followed K-P House’s failure to renew its lease. The CDA had issued notices, with the latest one sent in May 2024. K-P House management did not respond, prompting CDA’s action.

Magistrate Leads the Sealing Operation
Special Magistrate Sardar Muhammad Asif, along with Assistant Commissioner Abdullah, led the sealing of K-P House. This action adds to the growing tension between Islamabad’s administration and the K-P government.
Chief Minister Gandapur’s Belongings Go Missing
During the D-Chowk protests, K-P Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur reported that his valuables went missing from K-P House. The items included two iPhone 15 Pro Max devices, a wallet, personal documents, and a licensed firearm. Gandapur said these devices held crucial contacts, which disrupted his communication.
He shared his concerns with assembly members and asked for help retrieving his contacts. Islamabad’s Inspector General of Police has opened an investigation into the missing items.
K-P Government’s Stand Against Police
The K-P government’s decision to pursue legal action against Islamabad police highlights rising tension between regional and federal authorities. K-P officials argue the raid overstepped bounds, violating K-P’s control over its property.
The CDA’s sealing and the alleged loss of Gandapur’s belongings have led to calls within K-P’s cabinet for legal action. Provincial leaders see the incidents as a breach of their jurisdiction.
Legal Action and Its Implications
If the K-P government follows through with legal action, the case could set a precedent for inter-provincial relations in Islamabad. The outcome may affect how provincial properties are handled in the capital.
Islamabad police and CDA have yet to respond to the potential legal challenge.
