In a major diplomatic development, the UAE has pledged visa facilitation support for Pakistani citizens. This assurance came during a high-level meeting in Abu Dhabi between UAE Interior Minister Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who is on an official visit to strengthen bilateral ties.
Focus on Easing Work Visas
During the meeting, Minister Naqvi called for relaxing visa policies, particularly for Pakistani workers. “We want Pakistani citizens to come to the UAE with ease,” Naqvi emphasized, adding that simplified visa procedures would greatly benefit the public. In response, the UAE minister offered full cooperation and promised to expedite visa processing for Pakistanis.
Strengthening Cooperation in Security
The discussions also covered broader areas of mutual interest, including security, anti-smuggling, and advanced policing. Both sides agreed to expand cooperation by integrating artificial intelligence and modern surveillance technologies to tackle cross-border threats and organized crime.

Impressed by the advancements, he expressed interest in replicating similar technologies in Pakistan. He commended the UAE’s use of innovation in law enforcement and stressed the importance of adopting such practices back home.
Deepening Bilateral Relations
Concluding his visit, Naqvi described the Pakistan-UAE bond as a “national asset.” He reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to enhance collaboration in security, immigration, and public welfare.
