Karachi police confirmed on Thursday that the chemical examination report of model and actress Humaira Asghar, whose decomposed body was found in her DHA Phase VI flat, has ruled out the presence of any toxic or poisonous substances in her system. According to officials, nine samples from her remains were submitted to the forensic laboratory at the University of Karachi.

DIG South revealed that the report provides no evidence of poisoning, shifting focus toward other possible causes of death. “We are now waiting for the final medico-legal report, which will establish the actual cause of death,” the official added, stating that the MLO’s assessment is expected by tomorrow.

Humaira Asghar’s mysterious death has shocked fans and the entertainment industry, with many still questioning how she remained missing for so long without any immediate concern raised.

Eight Months After Death, Body Found in Locked Flat

The grim discovery was made on July 8, when a court-appointed bailiff broke into the apartment at Ittehad Commercial, DHA Karachi. The action followed repeated complaints from the landlord over unpaid rent. Once inside, officials found Humaira Asghar’s decomposed body in a room adjacent to the bedroom, with the balcony door open. Police confirmed the main entrance had been locked from the inside.

The initial post-mortem findings suggested she had died nearly eight months earlier, around October 7, 2024. Neighbours said they noticed a strange odour by December, but no official complaints were filed.

Interestingly, documents at the scene—such as utility bills and receipts—showed that rent and dues were paid until May 2024, long after her estimated date of death. Officers also found clothes in the bathroom and washing machine area, leading investigators to believe that she may have been doing laundry before she died.

Phones, Diary, and Digital Clues Under Review

The police recovered several personal items from the apartment, including three mobile phones, a tablet, a diary, and various documents. Forensic experts disclosed that all three SIM cards registered to Humaira Asghar were active at the time, and two phones were not even password-protected.

A digital forensic review found over 2,000 contacts in her devices, with ongoing conversations linked to at least 75 individuals over a long duration. Notably, on the day believed to be her last, she contacted 14 people. These individuals are now being questioned as part of the investigation to help determine her state of mind and final moments.

Authorities have not ruled out any possibilities, including accidental death, suicide, or foul play. With the chemical report eliminating poisoning as a cause, investigators are now relying on digital evidence and the final medical report to piece together the puzzle.

Ongoing Investigation and Public Reaction

The mysterious circumstances surrounding Humaira Asghar’s death have captured the public’s attention, especially due to the significant delay in discovering her body. The case has also raised questions about how someone in the public eye could remain missing for so long without alerting friends, colleagues, or law enforcement.

As fans mourn her tragic passing, authorities continue to piece together a timeline from forensic, digital, and testimonial evidence. “There are still many unanswered questions,” an investigator said, “and we are committed to uncovering the truth.”

Police have urged anyone with relevant information about Humaira Asghar’s activities around October 2024 to come forward. The investigation remains active, and updates are expected following the release of the final medico-legal report.
