Saudi Arabia Investments in Pakistan

Saudi Arabia has a long-standing relationship with Pakistan and has traditionally been one of the country’s largest sources of foreign investment.

Saudi Arabia has invested in a wide range of sectors in Pakistan, including energy, infrastructure, and finance.

One of the most significant investments made by Saudi Arabia in Pakistan is in the energy sector. Saudi Arabia has invested in several power generation and oil and gas exploration projects in Pakistan.

For example, Saudi company ARAMCO invested $4 billion in a joint venture with Pakistan’s state-owned oil company, Pakistan State Oil (PSO), to set up a refinery in the port city of Gwadar.

In recent years, Saudi Arabia has also invested in Pakistan’s infrastructure sector, particularly in transportation and logistics.

One of the notable example is the establishment of the Gwadar Port, a deep-sea port in the southwestern province of Balochistan, which is being developed with the help of Saudi investment.

This port is expected to boost Pakistan’s economic growth and provide it with greater access to global markets.

In addition, Saudi Arabia has invested in Pakistan’s financial sector, through the establishment of a $4 billion oil refinery and petrochemical complex in the southern province of Sindh and $3 billion in the construction of a new oil refinery in Punjab province.

Saudi Arabia has also provided Pakistan with financial assistance in the form of loans and grants. For example, in 2019, Saudi Arabia provided Pakistan with a loan of $3 billion to support the country’s balance of payments and to help stabilize its economy.

The relationships between both countries have been strengthened over the years and it is expected that the investment will continue to flow in different sectors in the future.

The government of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have been working on more investment opportunities to boost the economy of both countries and to improve the living standard of people.

PTA Blocks 175,000 Mobile Phones

Every day thousands of mobile phones are stolen by thieves from innocent citizens of the country. Most of the time, owners of mobile phones just block their sims to their data and personal numbers from leaking.

But now Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has decided to block mobile phones through the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) devices under the Device Identification, Registration, and Blocking System (DIRBS).

Last year, PTA decided to block more than 175,000 mobile phone devices by blocking their IMEI to prevent thieves from accessing and using stolen mobile phones.

Moreover, according to the annual report last year, DIRBS identified more than 29 million duplicate IMEI devices. Also, PTA blocked 0.88 million fake IMEI used by duplicate numbers after being stolen.

This step will prove crucial in preventing the spread of fake and duplicate numbers after stealing mobile phones. Moreover, it will lower the rate of stealing because mobile phones would be of no use to thieves if they are blocked.

China and Russia established a new global order

China and Russia are both major global powers with significant economic and military resources. As such, they do have the ability to exert a significant degree of influence on the international stage.

However, it is uncertain whether or not they have the ability or the desire to establish a new global order.

China is widely recognized as a rising economic power, and it has been actively seeking to expand its influence in various regions around the world. It has invested heavily in infrastructure and development projects in many countries, and has also been expanding its military capabilities.

Additionally, China has been increasing its political and diplomatic engagement with countries across the world in order to promote its interests and build a network of allies.

These actions, China is widely perceived as having played a more active and assertive role in shaping international relations in recent years.

Russia, too has its own geopolitical interest, with its natural resources and military might. It has been using its energy resources as a tool of foreign policy and building up its military capabilities as well.

However, it is also worth noting that both countries face significant challenges, domestically and internationally.

Both countries also have their own diverging interests, which may not align. Even though both nations have formed strategic partnership and cooperate in several areas, it is not clear if both nations are willing and able to establish a new global order.

Ultimately, whether or not China and Russia can establish a new global order will depend on a variety of factors, including their ability to build and maintain alliances, their ability to address internal challenges, and their ability to achieve their goals and objectives in the face of opposition from other major global powers.

Do Zodiac Signs Actually have any Effect on Us

Zodiac signs are based on the idea that the position of the stars and planets at the time of a person’s birth can have an effect on their personality, interests, and future events in their life.

However, there is no scientific evidence to support the idea that astrological signs have any effect on a person’s behavior or personality.

Many scientific studies have been conducted on the relationship between astrological signs and personality traits, and the vast majority of these studies have found no correlation between a person’s astrological sign and their behavior or personality.

It is important to note that astrology is not considered to be a science, and that the claims made by astrologers are not supported by scientific evidence.

Astrology is considered by most scientists to be a pseudoscience, which means that it makes claims that are not supported by scientific evidence or are contradicted by scientific evidence.

So it is nothing more than a belief system and people should not make important decision based on it.

Prince Harry Finds Media Comments on His Memoir Hurtful

Prince Harry recently released his autobiographical book called ‘Spare’ which became a best-selling book according to the publisher of the book.

In this book, Harry revealed some minute details about his life in the Royal Family, his relationship with his parents and brother, his personal encounters, fights, and his time in the Afghanistan war.

About his time as a co-pilot on a helicopter in the Afghanistan war, he recalled that he killed 25 Taliban and he does not regret that decision because they were bad people and should be killed before they hurt good people.

However, the British Prince feels hurtful and angry with British Media for picking up his statement about killing 25 Taliban in Afghanistan and twisting it saying that he ‘boasted’ about it.

In an interview, Prince Harry said, “Without doubt the most dangerous lie that they have told is that I somehow boasted about the number of people that I killed in Afghanistan.”

He further went on to say, “I made a choice to share it because having spent nearly two decades working with veterans all around the world, I think the most important thing is to be honest and be able to give space to others to be able to share their experiences without any shame.”

Moreover, he mentioned that few days after the release of his book have been hurtful and challenging due to negative coverage by the media.

Saudi Arabia Plans to Utilize Local Uranium

The energy minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Abdul Aziz bin Salman explained Saudi Arabia’s plight to utilize domestically sourced uranium as nuclear fuel.

He said, “The kingdom intends to utilize its national uranium resources, including in joint ventures with willing partners in accordance with international commitments and transparency standards.’

He further mentioned that “the entire nuclear fuel cycle involves the production of yellowcake, low enriched uranium and the manufacturing of nuclear fuel both for our national use and of course for export.”

Saudi Arabia is the largest exporter of oil in the world and it has explored diverse uranium in the Gulf area and plans to utilize it rather than reprocess spent fuel.

However, there is no clear political intention behind this decision by the Gulf country because Saudi Prince, Muhammad bin Salman said in 2018 that Arab will develop nuclear weapons if Iran did.

Iran or any other country from international community has not commented on Saudi Arabia’s decision regarding nuclear weapons.

Climate change challenges for Pakistan

Pakistan is one of the countries that is particularly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. Some of the major challenges that Pakistan is facing due to climate change include:

Water shortages: Rising temperatures and changing precipitation patterns are leading to more frequent droughts and water shortages in Pakistan. This is affecting agriculture and causing food insecurity.

Sea level rise: Coastal areas of Pakistan are at risk of being flooded due to sea level rise. This could lead to the displacement of communities and damage to infrastructure.

Extreme weather events: Pakistan is experiencing more frequent and severe extreme weather events such as heatwaves, storms, and floods. These events can cause loss of life, damage to infrastructure, and economic disruption.

Agriculture: Climate change is affecting agricultural productivity in Pakistan. Rising temperatures and changing precipitation patterns are leading to crop failures and reduced yields.

Health impacts: Climate change is also having negative impacts on health in Pakistan. For example, rising temperatures are increasing the incidence of heat-related illnesses, and extreme weather events can lead to the spread of diseases such as cholera.

Pakistan is working to address these challenges by implementing adaptation measures and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. However, more action is needed to effectively address the impacts of climate change in the country.

Mice Regain Forgotten Memories in Lab

The worst feeling in the world is when you are so close to recalling something that happened in the past but are unable to. Forgetting something is a part of life especially when sleep-deprived or tired. Recalling a little piece of information can become a tedious chore.

But scientists claim that one can get access to those little pieces of information that one lost during sleep or in the past. They claim that ‘forgotten memories’ can be reobtained with a prescription drug that treats pulmonary diseases, such as asthma or chronic bronchitis

These prescriptive drugs can activate brain cells to bring back older memories. The neuroscientist Robert Havekes who works at the University of Groningen conducted an experiment with his team to bring memories back in mice.

His team put objects in the cage and used 6 hours of sleep-deprived mice to identify those objects. However, the experiment showed that after few days, the mice forget to identify the objects and changed their course. But when the neuroscientist used a ‘signal of light’ or drug ‘roflumilast’ at the mice’s hippocampus (part of brain for memories).

This experiment shows that mice can remember older information if certain neurons are activated in the hippocampus. Robert said, “The information was, in fact, stored in the brain, but just difficult to retrieve.’

Scientists are planning to develop something like this for humans so they can benefit from the research and remember their forgotten memories.

Scientists Claim End of Great Salt Lake in 5 Years

The largest salt lake in the world is located in the northern part of Utah, United States. But the scientists claim that this huge salt lake will disappear in 5 years if people and government do not take care of it.

The people of Utah need to conserve water or else the lake will dry up. The land of salt lake is about 2.5 million acres and to stop the declining level of the lake, almost 1.2 million liters of water are required to be put back into the lake.

The current situation suggests that 0.1 million acre-feet of water is returned to the lake which is not enough. Moreover, the lake loses over 1 million acre-feet of water annually.

In addition, the researchers suggest that despite warning the government and the people of Utah, nobody realizes the urgency of this crisis, and the need to conserve water.

Moreover, they mention further disadvantages and negative impacts of the decline in water levels. They said, “Examples from around the world show that saline lake loss triggers a long-term cycle of environmental, health, and economic suffering. Without a coordinated rescue, we can expect widespread air and water pollution, numerous Endangered Species Act listings, and declines in agriculture, industry, and overall quality of life.”

The Great Salt Lake is beneficial for the environment because it harbours important flora and fauna, protects air quality, remove water pollution, and maintain weather and snowfall in close range mountains.
