Hezbollah Chief Naim Qassem Vows Continued Resistance: ‘No Normalisation with Israel’

BEIRUT: Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary-General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, has firmly declared that the group will never accept normalisation with Israel, even as temporary ceasefire efforts unfold across the region.

In a speech delivered amid rising tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border, Qassem reiterated Hezbollah’s long-standing position against recognising or legitimising the Israeli occupation.

“We are confronting the Israeli enemy in defence of our country and will continue even if the entire world unites to dissuade us,” he said.

Qassem’s statement comes as international powers, including the United States and France, intensify diplomatic pressure on Lebanon to rein in Hezbollah and prevent further escalation. However, the group insists it will not compromise on its principles — especially not on issues of sovereignty and national dignity.

‘Prepared for Peace, But Ready for War’

While Qassem stressed that Hezbollah is open to peace and to building a stronger Lebanon, he made it clear that any peace must come on Lebanon’s terms, not under pressure from foreign agendas or in exchange for recognition of Israeli occupation.

What Angel Jibreel (AS) Told the Prophet (PBUH) About Karbala

“We are ready for peace and for building Lebanon, but we are also prepared to confront and defend our country,” he asserted.

Hezbollah’s resistance rhetoric has grown more intense in recent months, especially as Israeli airstrikes have occasionally targeted southern Lebanon and Hezbollah has responded with its own operations.

The group says its military actions are defensive, aimed at deterring Israeli aggression and asserting Lebanese sovereignty — particularly in the context of the long-standing Israeli occupation of Shebaa Farms and Kfar Shuba hills.

Hezbollah Opposes Ceasefire ‘Legitimising Occupation’

Qassem also addressed the ongoing efforts for a ceasefire in Gaza and potential spillovers into Lebanon. While not opposing a ceasefire in principle, he warned against any deal that could be interpreted as a political win for Israel or a step toward normalisation.

“Once the first phase of the ceasefire agreement is achieved, we will discuss Lebanon’s defence strategy,” Qassem stated.
“But we will not be part of legitimising the occupation in Lebanon, and we will not accept normalisation.”

His remarks reflect Hezbollah’s deep mistrust of Western-brokered deals and its firm rejection of the Abraham Accords, through which several Arab countries, including the UAE and Bahrain, have normalised ties with Israel.

For Hezbollah, resistance is not merely about armed struggle — it’s a strategic, ideological stance that shapes the group’s view of Lebanon’s future, Israel’s role in the region, and the rights of Palestinians.

As regional powers continue to push for a broader peace and stability framework in the Middle East, Hezbollah’s position underscores the deep divisions that still remain — especially when it comes to Israel’s legitimacy and the price of peace.

What Angel Jibreel (AS) Told the Prophet (PBUH) About Karbala

Long before the tragic battle on the scorching plains of Karbala, a moment occurred that still breaks hearts to this day. According to authentic Hadiths, Angel Jibreel (AS) came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) with a chilling message — a vision of the future soaked in blood.

He brought with him a handful of red soil from a distant land and said, “This is the land where your grandson Hussain will be martyred.” The Prophet (PBUH) took the soil with trembling hands and entrusted it to Umm Salama (RA), one of his wives. He told her:

“Keep this soil safe. The day it turns blood-red, know that my Hussain has been martyred.”

Imagine the weight of that knowledge. That soil, held quietly in a corner of the Prophet’s household, was not just dirt. It was a silent witness to an inevitable future, a reminder that the beloved grandson of the Messenger of Allah was destined for a brutal sacrifice.

This wasn’t just foresight. It was a divine warning of the heartbreak that awaited the Prophet’s family and the Ummah at large.

The Prophet (PBUH) Loved Hussain Deeply

The bond between the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his grandsons, Hassan and Hussain, was unmatched. He didn’t just love them — he cherished them, carried them on his shoulders, let them sit on his back during prayer, and constantly invoked blessings upon them.

He famously said:

“Hussain is from me, and I am from Hussain.” (Tirmidhi)

This statement wasn’t mere emotion. It was a spiritual truth. Imam Hussain wasn’t just his grandson by blood — he was his legacy by faith. He reflected the Prophet’s truth, his values, and his unshakable stand for justice.

That’s why Karbala wasn’t just about a political rebellion. It was a continuation of the Prophet’s mission — standing firm in the face of corruption, no matter the cost.

And when Hussain (RA) chose dignity over compromise, he proved that he truly was from the Prophet.

He Wept, Even When Hussain Was Still a Child

There are narrations where the Prophet (PBUH) was seen holding young Hussain (RA) in his lap — smiling one moment, crying the next.

Umm Salama (RA) once asked him, “O Messenger of Allah, why are you crying?”
He replied with sorrow in his voice:

“Jibreel has just informed me that this son of mine will be martyred on the land of Karbala.”

It’s one thing to hear about tragedy. It’s another to know it’s going to happen to someone you love more than your own life.

Still, the Prophet never tried to stop it. Because this wasn’t just a personal sorrow — it was divinely destined.

Karbala was not a spontaneous event. It was written. But it was also a choice — and Imam Hussain (RA) made the choice that turned sorrow into strength.

Karbala Wasn’t a Political Fight — It Was a Continuation of the Prophet’s Mission

Let’s be clear: Karbala was not a struggle for power. Imam Hussain (RA) never wanted the throne. He didn’t raise an army to take over a state. He raised his voice — against tyranny, against injustice, against a caliphate that had turned into a dynasty.

The Prophet (PBUH) had already warned that after him, there would be rulers who distort religion for personal gain. He knew someone from his own bloodline would one day have to draw the line.

That someone was Hussain.

By standing against Yazid — even though it cost him everything — Imam Hussain didn’t lose. He reawakened the soul of Islam. He reminded the Ummah that truth must be defended, no matter the price.

Karbala wasn’t a defeat. It was a message. A mission. A mirror of the Prophet’s struggle for truth and justice.

A Grandfather Who Watched History Bleed Before It Happened

We often forget the emotional toll this took on the Prophet (PBUH). He didn’t just preach about Karbala. He lived with it. Every time he hugged Hussain, every time he watched him play, he saw what was coming.

  • He saw the Euphrates denied to his thirsty grandson.

  • He saw the tents burned, the babies crying, the severed heads raised on spears.

  • He saw Zainab (RA) in chains, standing tall in the court of Yazid, carrying the message forward.

Yet he never stopped loving Hussain. He never stopped preparing him spiritually. Because he knew — Hussain’s death would give life to the Ummah.

The Prophet (PBUH) taught us through that silence that sometimes, you don’t prevent pain — you prepare the heart to carry it with purpose.

The Message for Us

Karbala isn’t just a historical event. It’s a living reality. It’s a choice each of us must make — will we stand for truth like Hussain, or stay silent like the many who watched him fall?

The Prophet (PBUH) didn’t just mourn Karbala in private. He shared it with the Ummah. He warned us. He cried for it — so we would never forget.

Yaum-i-Ashura Processions Held Across Pakistan Under Tight Security

Yaum-i-Ashura processions commenced across Pakistan on Sunday, with thousands of mourners taking to the streets to pay tribute to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), the grandson of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and the martyrs of Karbala. The day marks the 10th of Muharram, a significant date in the Islamic calendar that symbolizes the fight against tyranny and injustice.

From Karachi to Islamabad, cities remained on high alert as federal and provincial authorities tightened security. Army troops were deployed, and anti-terror measures intensified, including surveillance via drones and safe city cameras. Police and security agencies maintained round-the-clock monitoring of religious gatherings and processions to ensure peace.

Earlier in the week, traffic plans were issued in major cities to manage the Ashura processions. These plans detailed road closures and alternative routes, aiming to ease public movement while securing the processions.

Karachi Deploys Over 7,000 Officers; Processions Peaceful

In Karachi, the main Ashura procession began from Nishtar Park at around 8:30am, led by religious scholar Shahenshah Hussain Naqvi. According to police, approximately 3,500 to 4,000 mourners participated. The procession route stretched from Numaish Chowrangi to Kharadar’s Husseinia Irania Imam Bargah.

Israel Wants Gaza to Be a ‘Land Without a People’

To maintain law and order, 7,004 police personnel were deployed in the city. These included 6,271 constables and head constables, along with senior officers and special sniper units. Additionally, 733 volunteers from NGOs worked alongside police to assist with crowd control and security checks.

The Karachi Traffic Police closed several major arteries, including MA Jinnah Road, to accommodate the processions and ensure safety. Traffic police officers managed alternative routes to minimize public inconvenience.

At the Sindh Governor House, pots of haleem were prepared and distributed as niaz (charitable food offering) on the instructions of Governor Kamran Tessori, continuing a long-standing tradition of community service during Muharram.

Multan Focuses on Surveillance and Emergency Response

In Multan, 283 processions and 225 majalis took place across the city under the watchful eye of over 5,000 police personnel. Commissioner Aamir Kareem Khan and CPO Sadiq Ali Dogar confirmed that 12 vigilance teams had been formed to monitor activities, while rooftop deployments and plain-clothes officers ensured surveillance on ground.

CCTV cameras were installed at over 180 locations to monitor crowds and identify any suspicious activities. Deputy Commissioner Wasim Hamid Sindhu said that the central control room at the Home Department was actively overseeing the situation across Punjab.

Rescue 1122 took proactive measures by deploying 600 staff members, 30 ambulances, 15 fire trucks, 93 motorbike units, and two specialized rescue vehicles in Multan’s Shujaabad and Jalalpur Pirwala tehsils. Medical cover was provided at key spots to assist mourners in case of emergencies.

Punjab and Federal Capital Remain on High Alert

Across Punjab, more than 12,000 rescuers were deployed for Ashura and routine operations on the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Emergency Services Secretary Dr Rizwan Naseer confirmed that 815 ambulances, 2,166 motorbikes, and 316 fire and rescue vehicles were stationed in various cities.

In Lahore alone, 55 emergency ambulances, 300 rescue motorbikes, and 44 fire and rescue vehicles were deployed. Over 1,350 rescue personnel remained stationed throughout the city to provide immediate response in case of any incident.

Islamabad also saw strict security protocols. Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi personally oversaw operations, with 4,000 officers deployed to manage 12 processions and 48 majalis scheduled for the day. The capital had 57 checkpoints and more than 300 traffic officers deployed to assist citizens and monitor crowd movement.

“All operations are under Safe City surveillance, with drones, body cams, and mobile units in place,” Rizvi said, adding that both mobile and central control rooms are active.

National Leaders Pay Tribute to the Spirit of Karbala

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif issued separate messages on Yaum-i-Ashura, calling upon the nation to uphold the values of sacrifice, truth, and justice exemplified by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).

President Zardari termed Karbala “a symbol of eternal struggle against falsehood,” praising the patience and bravery shown by the martyrs. “It is a beacon of light in all dark times,” he said.

Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized that the message of Karbala transcends time. “Imam Hussain’s (RA) stand teaches us to speak the truth, support the oppressed, and advocate for justice,” he said. “This message is for every era and every believer who chooses to resist injustice.”

Both leaders urged the nation to follow the example of Karbala by remaining steadfast in the face of challenges and standing firm for righteousness and humanity.

Israel Wants Gaza to Be a ‘Land Without a People’

As global pressure mounts for a ceasefire in Gaza, political analysts are warning that Israel has no long-term interest in peace. Adnan Hayajneh, a professor of international relations at Qatar University, painted a bleak picture of Israel’s strategy. “What Israel wants is clear—it wants a land without a people.” According to him, Palestinians are being given only three choices: “starve to death, get killed, or leave the land.”

He told Al Jazeera that the ceasefire talks are only a tactic to secure the release of Israeli captives.

His comments come as hunger, bombings, and displacement plague the Gaza Strip—conditions widely criticized by international observers.

“There’s no hope that the ceasefire will continue,” Hayajneh said bluntly. “Once the captives are released, it will go back to the same old story of killing the Palestinians.”

While Palestinians and Hamas have expressed willingness for a permanent ceasefire, Hayajneh argues that Israel is only entertaining temporary agreements to achieve military goals. “This isn’t about peace,” he said. “It’s about control.”

Al-Aqsa Once Again Under Siege by Israeli Settlers

Tensions escalated further on Sunday when Israeli settlers, under police protection, stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem. The compound, considered the third-holiest site in Islam, has repeatedly been a flashpoint in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

According to local sources, the incursion was coordinated and backed by heavily armed Israeli police, allowing dozens of settlers to enter the site unhindered. The act sparked outrage across the Muslim world, especially as it coincided with heightened conflict in Gaza.

These settlers are Israeli citizens who live illegally on occupied Palestinian land in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Their actions are not only provocative but violate international law. For Palestinians, the repeated violations of Al-Aqsa’s sanctity symbolize Israel’s wider intentions—erasing Palestinian identity and presence, not just in Gaza, but across all occupied territories.

No-Confidence Rumors Stir Against Gandapur Amid Political Shifts in KP

Starve, Die, or Flee: Israel’s Unspoken Policy?

Experts say Israel’s broader strategy may not be just about Hamas or even security—it’s about demographic engineering. By pushing unbearable conditions in Gaza, the goal appears to be forcing Palestinians to flee en masse.

The current conditions support this claim. Gaza faces a total blockade, widespread hunger, and the near-collapse of its health system. More than 70% of homes have been destroyed or damaged, and hospitals are overwhelmed or completely shut down.

“This is not collateral damage,” Hayajneh noted. “This is calculated policy.”

In recent weeks, Israeli leaders have consistently rejected international calls for a lasting ceasefire. Instead, the focus has remained on securing the release of captives while continuing aerial bombardments and ground operations.

For many Palestinians, the message is clear: their existence is the problem. And for the Israeli leadership, the solution lies in making life so unbearable that leaving becomes the only option left.

As international outcry grows, so does the fear that history is repeating itself—another Nakba unfolding in real time.

No-Confidence Rumors Stir Against Gandapur Amid Political Shifts in KP

Amid recent shifts in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly, speculation is growing around a possible no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. Despite PTI holding a clear majority, opposition numbers are quietly increasing—fueling political intrigue in the province.

PTI-Led Majority Still Intact

Gandapur currently enjoys strong support from 58 members of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) and 34 independents. Nearly all independents are PTI-backed. Interestingly, Gandapur himself took oath as an independent and has not officially joined the SIC. This bloc gives the PTI a comfortable edge in the 145-member assembly.

Opposition Strength Grows

Despite denials from PML-N leaders like Rana Sanaullah and Khawaja Asif, opposition forces seem to be preparing for a challenge. Their combined strength has grown to 53, with parties like the PML-N, JUI-F, and PPP benefiting from reserved seat allocations disproportionate to their elected members. To succeed in a no-confidence vote, they need at least 73 members—meaning a shortfall of 20.

Legal Routes and Tactics

Two constitutional options exist. Under Article 136, the opposition can move a no-confidence vote and prove majority support. Alternatively, the governor can invoke Article 130(7), forcing the CM to seek a vote of confidence if doubts arise over his majority.

The opposition could aim to win over independents or even try to influence SIC members. Following an October 2024 Supreme Court ruling, votes from defectors will count—even if disqualified later. If SIC members defect, by-elections follow. If independents switch sides, no elections are needed.

Loyalty a Tough Barrier

Still, the odds remain stacked against the opposition. Most independents have longstanding ties to the PTI. Many SIC members are party loyalists or first-time winners on PTI platforms. Shifting them would require more than just political persuasion.

Moreover, PTI continues to enjoy widespread public support in KP. Defections could cost lawmakers their credibility and voter base—making any such move highly risky. While the numbers game may tempt the opposition, the loyalty factor remains a formidable hurdle.

Iranian Missiles Struck Five Israeli Bases During 12-Day War

New radar analysis from Oregon State University reveals that Iranian missile strikes hit five Israeli military bases during the recent 12-day war — a fact not publicly disclosed due to Israel’s strict military censorship. These bases include a major airbase, an intelligence centre, and a logistics hub, contradicting earlier claims that Israeli military infrastructure faced little damage.

Undisclosed Military Hits

The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) have not confirmed the exact damage but stated that all operational units remained active. However, radar-based data shows six Iranian missiles successfully landed in Israel’s north, south, and central regions.

Cracks in Air Defence

Despite high-profile U.S.-backed defence systems like the Iron Dome and David’s Sling, The Telegraph’s analysis shows that by the seventh day of the war, about 16% of Iranian projectiles were breaching the air defences. The IDF had earlier cited an 87% interception rate overall.

Iran’s Growing Arsenal

Iranian media has widely circulated videos showing missiles bypassing Israeli defences, often set to revolutionary songs and satire.

Maj Gen Ali Fazli of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard boasted of Iran’s readiness and claimed that only 25–30% of their missile stockpile had been used. He added, “We haven’t even opened one of our missile cities yet.”

Israeli sources estimate that only half of Iran’s 400 launchers were neutralized. Iran’s arsenal, reportedly ranging from 2,000 to 2,500 missiles, could grow to 8,000 or more in the coming years.

A full war impact report from Oregon State researchers is expected soon.

Pakistan Taught India a Historic Lesson, Says Ishaq DarTaught India a Historic Lesson, Says Ishaq Dar

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar delivered a bold statement on Pakistan’s military response, claiming the country gave India an unforgettable lesson during the May 9–10 conflict. Speaking to reporters outside Lahore’s Data Darbar, Dar praised the armed forces and national unity, saying Pakistan’s decisive actions earned global respect.

Military Success and Global Recognition

Dar credited Pakistan’s military for downing six Indian fighter jets during the conflict. “We faced a larger enemy and emerged victorious by the grace of God,” he said. He added that both the civil and military leadership acted decisively, safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty.

He emphasized that Pakistan’s role on the global stage has grown stronger, citing its current presidency of the UN Security Council. Dar noted the international community acknowledged Pakistan’s measured and effective response to Indian aggression.

Rejects Political Speculations

Addressing rumors of a meeting between former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and PTI founder Imran Khan, Dar dismissed them as baseless. “There has been no visit to Adiala Jail, and no such meeting took place,” he clarified.

Political Unity During Crisis

Dar highlighted how the government reached out to all political parties during the crisis. “When India attacked, we stood united. The world saw our collective strength,” he said. He added that while cooperation is open, legal accountability will continue for those who violated laws.

Support for Allies and Peace in Region

He also expressed solidarity with Iran, condemning Israeli attacks and stressing the importance of regional peace. “Iran is our brother. Their parliament chanted ‘Thank You Pakistan,’ and Pakistani flags were seen at their martyrs’ funerals,” Dar said.

Economic Stability and Progress

Turning to the economy, Dar noted that inflation is falling, job opportunities are rising, and the country is recovering from past crises. “In 2022, we were on the brink of default. Political sacrifices were made to save the economy,” he said, crediting Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership.

He also praised Pakistan’s forces for continuing to combat terrorism, saying, “Our brave soldiers are sending extremists to hell.”

Jamun Seed Powder Emerges as Natural Ally in Diabetes Management

With diabetes affecting millions worldwide, many people are turning to natural options to support their health alongside prescribed treatments. One such option gaining attention is jamun seed powder, derived from the seeds of the Indian blackberry (Syzygium cumini). Once overlooked, this nutrient-rich seed is now being explored for its potential role in helping regulate blood sugar levels and improving overall metabolic health.

Unlike miracle-cure fads, jamun seed powder brings a history of consistent use and plant-based science. It contains jamboline and jambosine, two powerful alkaloids that slow down sugar absorption and help the body use insulin more effectively. This means it doesn’t just treat the symptom — it tackles the root of the imbalance.

Ayurvedic practitioners have long used jamun seeds to aid digestion, manage diabetes, and support liver function. Now, clinical interest is catching up, giving this natural product the attention it deserves.

How Jamun Seed Powder Supports Diabetic Health

For people dealing with type 2 diabetes or insulin resistance, jamun seed powder offers multiple benefits:

  1. Improves Insulin Sensitivity:
Jamun seed compounds help reduce insulin resistance, allowing the body to absorb and utilize glucose more efficiently. This is key for maintaining stable blood sugar without frequent spikes and crashes.

  2. Controls Post-Meal Sugar Surges:
By slowing carbohydrate breakdown in the digestive system, it prevents rapid blood sugar increases after meals — one of the biggest challenges for diabetics.

  3. Supports the Pancreas:
Early research suggests that jamun seed extracts may help regenerate beta cells in the pancreas — the cells responsible for insulin production.

  4. Protects Vital Organs:
Its antioxidant properties can help reduce oxidative stress in organs like the liver and kidneys, which are often under threat in long-term diabetes cases.

  5. Lowers Risk of Complications:
Over time, better glucose control can help prevent serious complications such as neuropathy, kidney failure, and vision loss.

While more research is needed to fully validate its medicinal impact, current findings and user experiences point toward its potential as a helpful companion to standard care.

How to Use Jamun Seed Powder Safely

Dosage:
The general recommended dose is 1 to 2 teaspoons daily, but it’s critical to consult your doctor first—especially if you’re already on diabetes medications. Taking both could result in hypoglycemia (dangerously low blood sugar).

How to take it:

  • With warm water: Traditional and simple, taken before meals.

  • Sprinkled on food: Add it to smoothies, salads, or yogurt.

  • In capsule form: Ideal for those who dislike its bitter taste.

Best time to consume:

  • Before meals for optimal sugar control.

  • On an empty stomach (optional) to enhance digestive benefits, as advised by some Ayurvedic experts.

Possible side effects and precautions:

  • Hypoglycemia when combined with insulin or diabetic medications.

  • Constipation or mild stomach discomfort in some people.

  • Allergic reactions, although rare, may occur.

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women, or those with kidney problems, should avoid using it without medical guidance.

As with any supplement, moderation and medical supervision are key to avoiding unintended consequences.

What to Expect Over Time

If taken regularly and responsibly, jamun seed powder may begin showing effects within a few weeks:

In 2–4 weeks:

  • Slight drop in blood sugar levels

  • Fewer sugar cravings

  • Improved focus and steady energy levels

In 8–12 weeks:

  • Reduced HbA1c levels, a crucial marker of long-term sugar control

  • Possible support to insulin-producing cells

  • Improved liver and kidney function

While results vary depending on the individual, combining jamun seed powder with a balanced diet, exercise, and regular medical checkups can enhance overall diabetes care.

Should You Add It to Your Routine?

Jamun seed powder offers a low-cost, widely available, and natural way to assist in managing diabetes. It’s not a replacement for medication but can be a valuable part of a holistic approach. For people seeking gentle, plant-based solutions rooted in tradition and backed by modern research, it’s worth considering.

However, always remember: nature works best when guided by science. Speak with your healthcare provider before adding any supplement to your routine.

Microsoft Shuts Pakistan Office Amid Global SaaS Shift and Layoffs

Microsoft Pakistan closure has made headlines as the global tech firm shuts down its local office, laying off five employees. While some speculated a complete withdrawal, the company clarified it will continue operations remotely through its global network and local partners.

Local Office Closed, But Services Continue

The move came to light after Jawad Rehman, Microsoft’s former Pakistan head, shared a LinkedIn post announcing the shutdown. He stated the company had officially ended its on-ground presence in Pakistan. Confirming the decision, a Microsoft spokesperson said customers in Pakistan would now be served via nearby Microsoft offices and a robust partner ecosystem. The company employs similar models in other countries.

Read: Karachi Building Collapse: 16 Dead, Rescue Ongoing

Global Layoffs Driving Strategic Shift

This closure is part of Microsoft’s global layoffs and restructuring. The company recently laid off nearly 4% of its 228,000 global employees. Around 6,000 workers were affected in May alone. Microsoft plans to reduce management layers and streamline processes as it pivots toward artificial intelligence and more agile business practices.

From On-Premise to SaaS

According to tech expert Habibullah Khan, Microsoft’s shift reflects a larger trend in the tech industry—from traditional on-premise models to Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). In the on-premise model, companies pay once to run software on their infrastructure. But SaaS offers cloud-based services via subscription, reducing overheads and the need for physical offices.

As a result, Microsoft no longer needs a physical presence in every market. Its Pakistan office had already seen reduced staffing, with most operations managed from abroad or by local partners.

Not a Full Exit

The Ministry of IT and Telecommunications said Microsoft’s decision shouldn’t be seen as an exit but a transformation to a partner-led, cloud-first strategy. The move aligns with Microsoft’s AI and SaaS-focused future rather than reflecting negatively on Pakistan’s tech landscape.

In contrast to companies like Careem, which are ending local operations entirely, Microsoft will maintain its presence through digital channels—highlighting the global shift toward virtual service delivery.

Danish Taimoor’s Viral Breakdown Scene in Sher Sparks Laughter—and Outrage

Danish Taimoor is trending again, and this time it’s not for his charm or acting chops—but for what many are calling one of the most unintentionally hilarious portrayals of mental illness on Pakistani TV. In a recent episode of Sher, Taimoor’s character, Sher Zaman, experiences a mental breakdown in what’s supposed to be a psychiatric facility. But the scene’s over-the-top drama and bizarre setting turned it into instant meme material.

From yelling “Shut up, I am sad” to a room filled with scribbles like “Corona Virus” in Urdu, the scene quickly flooded platforms like TikTok and X. Instead of empathy, it triggered laughter. The room’s chaotic design—featuring random, low-effort brain diagrams and juvenile scribblings on the walls—looked more like a haunted house than a hospital ward. Even Sher being chained to the bed came off as ridiculous rather than alarming.

One user commented, “This is what I looked like after pulling an all-nighter in med school.” Others joked, “It said coronavirus—I lost it,” and “Shut up, I am sad” has officially become Gen Z Pakistan’s newest favorite one-liner.

Social Media Clowns the Scene

Social media didn’t waste a second. The hashtags #SherZaman and #ShutUpIAmSad trended for hours. The reactions? Brutal. One TikTok user re-enacted the scene using a red marker and a school notebook. Others added remixes, including sad Bollywood music over Sher’s dramatic monologue.

X (formerly Twitter) had its own fun. “When I try to talk mental health at family gatherings,” one user posted, alongside a still of Danish Taimoor screaming. Memes aside, some fans couldn’t ignore the irony—how a scene meant to highlight psychological pain ended up being a comedy sketch.

But even in the laughter, there was discomfort. Many pointed out that this wasn’t just bad acting—it was irresponsible. Mental illness is not a joke. Yet, Sher treated it like slapstick.

Missed Opportunity for Real Awareness

As the scene continues to go viral, it also reignites a long-standing debate: Why can’t Pakistani dramas treat mental health with the seriousness it deserves?

Viewers were quick to draw comparisons to shows like Main Abdul Qadir Hoon, where the character’s psychological journey was handled with nuance and empathy. In contrast, Sher seems to have sacrificed accuracy for theatrics. The dramatization not only lacked realism but also risked reinforcing dangerous stereotypes—like the idea that mentally ill patients should be chained and isolated.

Mental health professionals and critics are now urging production houses to consult experts before writing such scenes. There’s a growing call for better research, more training, and a deeper sense of responsibility when dealing with such topics. Because while entertainment shapes public perception, misrepresenting mental illness only adds to the stigma.

In trying to go viral, Sher may have just exposed how unseriously our dramas take the issue of mental health. And that’s no laughing matter.

FIA Freezes Bank Accounts Over ‘Anti-State’ Allegations

The FIA account freeze policy is drawing public concern as Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) continues to block individuals’ bank accounts over alleged links to “anti-state” content—often without prior notice or due process.

Collateral Damage Without Evidence

Nasir discovered his account was blocked in April. The same journalist and his mother also found their accounts inaccessible. The journalist had previously been accused of running an online campaign against the judiciary.

In May, the Islamabad High Court ordered the restoration of the journalist’s account, criticising the FIA’s approach. The court stated the freeze violated constitutional rights, as the journalist was not given prior notice or a chance to respond.

Read: Muharram Security: LEAs on High Alert Nationwide for Peaceful Observance

More Victims, Same Pattern

Others have experienced similar treatment. Atif Sajjad Raza, who owns a media production house, and Rozi Khan, another bird seller, also had accounts frozen after transacting with the same journalist. In Raza’s case, FIA demanded he submit an affidavit disavowing the journalist’s political views to regain access.

Another Islamabad-based journalist saw his wife’s and sister’s accounts frozen without warning. He said the FIA claimed, without documentation, that he was under investigation for money laundering.

Rights Groups Raise Alarm

Reporters Without Borders has repeatedly listed Pakistan as one of the most dangerous places for journalists. Iqbal Khattak of Freedom Network called the freezing of accounts “a new tool to mentally exhaust independent journalists.”

Despite inquiries, the new National Cybercrime Investigation Agency has not clarified its policy. Meanwhile, people like Nasir, with urgent financial needs, remain trapped in bureaucratic silence, relying on others for basic transactions.

Mel B Ties the Knot in Star-Studded Wedding at St. Paul’s Cathedral

Spice Girls legend Melanie “Mel B” Brown, 50, has officially said “I do.” In a stunning ceremony held on Saturday, July 5, at the historic Crypt of St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, Mel B married hairstylist Rory McPhee, 37, in a wedding as iconic as her girl-power legacy. The couple’s choice of venue was no ordinary church — St. Paul’s is the same grand location where Princess Diana and Prince Charles wed in 1981. Mel B was granted this rare privilege after being honored as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) by Prince William in 2022, for her tireless work raising awareness about domestic violence.

“It’s a big deal because when you get married there — not many people are allowed to get married there. You have to be kind of special,” Mel B told The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon back in May, hinting at the fairytale nature of the day. And it didn’t disappoint.

From Custom Gowns to a Shard Reception

Mel B wore not one, but two stunning bridal gowns. For the ceremony, she donned an ivory custom piece by Josephine Scott, styled with the help of Caroline Black from Evelie Bridal Boutique. Later, she changed into a sophisticated gown by designer Justin Alexander for the reception. “Mel was a dream to work with,” said Black, applauding the singer’s personal flair and fashion sense.

The wedding reception took place at the luxurious Shangri-La Hotel inside The Shard — the tallest building in the UK — providing breathtaking views of London for an unforgettable night. The guest list? Packed with A-listers and glam. Among the famous faces spotted were fellow Spice Girl Emma Bunton (aka Baby Spice), supermodel Cara Delevingne, comedian Katherine Ryan, and model Daisy Lowe.

Mel B’s three daughters — Phoenix, 26, Angel Iris, 18, and Madison, 13 — stood proudly by her side as bridesmaids. Each one represented a chapter in Mel’s life and her journey through motherhood and past relationships.

The Journey to “Yes”

This wedding wasn’t just about glitz and glam — it marked a personal victory for Mel B. After two difficult marriages, the singer once vowed she’d never walk down the aisle again. “I was like, ‘I’m never going to get married again. Never, never, never. I’m fine by myself,’” she shared in an interview with PEOPLE earlier this year. But Rory McPhee — a longtime friend who later became her partner — helped her rediscover love.

The couple got engaged in 2022 during a romantic weekend getaway in Berkshire. “There were rose petals everywhere, a log fire, a hotel — which was Cliveden. It was very romantic,” Mel recalled during an episode of Celebrity Gogglebox. Rory proposed with the heartfelt words: “I love you, you’re my best friend and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.” The moment was straight out of a rom-com — one Mel B didn’t think she’d ever star in again.

U.S. to Send ‘Take-It-or-Leave-It’ Tariff Letters to 12 Countries

A Leopard-Print Bachelorette and a Viral Love Story

Before the big day, Mel B celebrated in true “Scary Spice” fashion — with a bold, fun-filled bachelorette party by the sea. Clad in a leopard-print bikini, she led a group of 36 close friends (all also in leopard print) in a choreographed dance to Beyoncé’s “End of Time.” In an Instagram video, Mel is seen running down a dock, ripping off her lace cover-up, and joining the all-girls squad in a wild celebration of friendship, fun, and new beginnings.

This wedding has sparked massive buzz online, not just for the nostalgic Spice Girls fans, but for those who have followed Mel B’s empowering journey. From surviving abusive relationships to becoming a fierce advocate for women’s rights, Mel’s marriage to Rory feels like a well-deserved fairy tale.

In a media world obsessed with flash and filters, this real-life love story stands out. It’s raw, it’s emotional, and it’s proof that even after heartbreak, healing — and true love — is still possible.

As fans across the globe cheer on Scary Spice’s happily ever after, one thing is clear: Mel B is still spicing up our lives — this time with love, strength, and a stunning wedding dress.

U.S. to Send ‘Take-It-or-Leave-It’ Tariff Letters to 12 Countries

The U.S. tariff strategy is taking a sharp turn as President Donald Trump prepares to send formal tariff letters to 12 countries next week. These letters, described as “take-it-or-leave-it” offers, outline the new tariff levels nations will face on exports to the United States. Trump signed the letters aboard Air Force One and confirmed they would be dispatched Monday, just days before the July 9 negotiation deadline expires.

Tariffs Could Rise as High as 70%

Trump warned that the tariff levels might significantly exceed the previously announced 10% base rate. In April, the White House unveiled a base tariff and proposed additional surcharges for most countries, some climbing as high as 50%. However, those extra tariffs were paused for 90 days to allow time for negotiations. That grace period ends July 9, and Trump indicated some tariffs might now spike up to 70% starting August 1.

Negotiations Abandoned, Letters Preferred

Trump expressed frustration with traditional trade negotiations, calling the process slow and ineffective. “The letters are better — much easier to send a letter,” he remarked, signaling a pivot away from broad diplomatic talks. Earlier plans to negotiate with dozens of nations, including key partners like Japan and the EU, have largely failed.

Partial Agreements and Missed Deals

So far, the only completed deals are with Britain and Vietnam. Britain maintained a 10% tariff and secured favorable terms for autos and aircraft engines. Vietnam avoided a threatened 46% tariff, settling instead for 20% on many exports while allowing U.S. products duty-free access.

A much-anticipated agreement with India remains elusive, and European diplomats confirmed that talks with Washington have stalled. With limited progress, the EU may now push to maintain the current status quo to avoid new tariff penalties.

Trump’s latest move underscores a tougher U.S. trade posture, signaling that countries must accept steep tariffs unless they strike deals — and quickly.

Hunger and Airstrikes: 24 Palestinians Killed Amid Escalating Gaza Crisis

At least 24 Palestinians lost their lives on Saturday in the ongoing Gaza civilian deaths crisis, as Israeli airstrikes and the struggle for food continue to claim lives across the embattled enclave.

Strikes and Scarcity Collide

The Israeli military targeted several locations across the Gaza Strip, intensifying operations amid growing international concerns over humanitarian access.

Simultaneously, chaos unfolded near food aid centers. Desperate civilians seeking sustenance were caught in fatal incidents that claimed 10 lives. Witnesses described scenes of panic as large crowds scrambled for limited supplies amid active bombardment.

Foreign Aid Workers Wounded

Adding to the tension, two American aid workers affiliated with the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) were injured at a food distribution site in southern Gaza. The incident has raised fresh concerns over the safety of humanitarian workers in conflict zones.

Humanitarian Toll Rising

The death toll underscores the grim reality facing Gaza’s population, where food, water, and medical supplies remain scarce. Aid agencies have repeatedly warned of a looming famine and the collapse of critical infrastructure. However As airstrikes continue and aid distribution becomes more perilous, the civilian population finds itself trapped in a worsening catastrophe.

Among the victims was Anas Al-Basyouni, a young man killed on his way to receive food aid. His mother mourned at Gaza City’s Shifa Hospital, a site that has become overwhelmed with casualties and grief.

The Gaza conflict continues to escalate with no ceasefire in sight, placing more lives at risk each day. Families grieve while others remain in desperate search for food, safety, and answers.

Muharram Security: LEAs on High Alert Nationwide for Peaceful Observance

A comprehensive Muharram security plan is in effect across Pakistan to ensure law and order during the 9th and 10th of Muharram processions. Law enforcement agencies (LEAs) remain fully alert, with coordination at federal and provincial levels to monitor every aspect of security.

Nationwide Surveillance and Coordination

Authorities have established control rooms in Islamabad and all provinces. These centers are actively monitoring 2,763 mourning processions and 7,598 majalis taking place today across Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. In 1,129 sensitive areas, surveillance drones and CCTV cameras are operating around the clock.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, and Interior Secretary Khurram Agha are personally overseeing operations. They remain in direct contact with local authorities to ensure swift responses to any threat.

Zero Tolerance for Sectarianism

The government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy toward sectarian violence and hate speech.

Naqvi also reaffirmed Pakistan’s determination to thwart any threats from hostile forces. “Our enemies failed in the past, and they will fail again,” he said, alluding to anti-state actors like Fitna-al-Hindustan.

Religious Observance and Security

The solemn religious significance of Muharram is being respected through heightened security and logistical preparedness. Police forces, Rangers, and other agencies have been deployed in all major cities. Barriers, walk-through gates, and scanners are in place at key locations to ensure public safety.

This robust security framework underscores the government’s commitment to preserving peace during one of the most sensitive religious periods in the Islamic calendar. With unity and vigilance, authorities aim to maintain harmony and prevent any untoward incidents during the sacred days.

Lyari Tragedy: Death Toll Rises to 15 After Building Collapse

The Lyari building collapse has claimed at least 15 lives as rescue efforts continued into a second day on Saturday. A five-storey residential structure on Fida Husain Shaikha Road, already declared dangerous, crumbled early Friday in Karachi’s congested Baghdadi area. Rescue workers are still searching for survivors beneath the rubble.

Warnings Ignored, Accountability Questioned

The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) had declared the building unsafe back in 2022. It issued multiple eviction notices and requested utility disconnections. However, residents claimed they received no such notices. One resident, Imran Khaskheli, said he warned others to evacuate after spotting fresh cracks, but many ignored his pleas.

Government Response and Political Criticism

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has requested a full report, and a high-level committee will present findings by Monday. Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani ordered the suspension of SBCA officials for negligence. Meanwhile, opposition leader Ali Khurshidi accused the Sindh government of systemic failure, saying mere suspensions were not enough.

Khurshidi demanded legal action and reforms, urging the PPP leadership to stop issuing symbolic condemnations. “This is a test of your credibility,” he said, addressing President Asif Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.

History of Collapses

Karachi has a grim record of structural failures. In June 2020, 22 people died in a similar Lyari collapse. Other incidents in Gulbahar, Shah Faisal Colony, and Bhains Colony have claimed dozens of lives over the years.

As rescue workers dig through the debris, families wait with fading hope, calling once again for urgent action against dangerous buildings in the city.

Labubu Dolls: The Disturbing Charm of a Toy That Terrifies

Labubu dolls are the latest collector’s craze—but for many, they’re a nightmare wrapped in cuteness. With their wide, sinister grins and eerily large eyes, these dolls have gone viral across social media not for being adorable companions, but for creeping people out. Some call them cute. Others say they’d burn one on sight. But one thing’s certain: Labubu isn’t your average toy.

In a world where Barbie dreams of Malibu and plushies scream soft comfort, Labubu dolls look like they crawled out of a Tim Burton fever dream.

So… what exactly are Labubu dolls? Why are people obsessed with them—and why do so many others find them downright horrifying?

Let’s explore the strange world of Labubu: where horror meets hype, and where nightmares wear a grin.

What Is Labubu and Why Does It Look So… Unsettling?

Labubu is a fictional character designed by artist Kasing Lung under the collectible toy brand The Monsters, produced by Pop Mart—a Chinese company known for its “blind box” designer toys. Labubu isn’t just a single doll. It’s a whole species of creepy-cute misfits, each with its own personality, outfit, and eerie expression.

But it’s the original Labubu design that has haunted the internet:

  • A wiry figure with exaggerated features

  • Big, black button-like eyes

  • A permanent, razor-toothed smile

  • Long ears sticking out like antennas from a twisted universe

Labubu doesn’t follow the rules of traditional cuteness. It’s like someone asked, “What if a teddy bear had rabies?” and then mass-produced it.

People either collect them religiously or run the other way.

Texas Flash Floods Kill 24, Dozens of Campers Still Missing

The Cult Following vs. the Creeped Out

Labubu fans adore the dolls for their unique aesthetic. They’re seen as rare, alternative art pieces—like the punk rock of the designer toy world. Collectors chase limited editions, display shelves full of them, and even dress them up. For some, Labubu is lovable because it’s weird—a middle finger to glossy perfection.

But for others, it’s the stuff of horror movie dreams.

Social media is filled with posts like:

  • “Why does this doll look like it will eat me in my sleep?”

  • “Labubu? Nah, I’m not letting that thing near my house.”

  • “This is not cute. This is cursed.”

There’s even a running joke on TikTok: if your friend buys a Labubu, sleep with one eye open. Because those dolls? Yeah, they move when you’re not looking. (At least, according to the internet.)

Why Do Labubu Dolls Feel So… Evil?

Here’s where it gets psychologically interesting.

The horror of Labubu isn’t just in the design. It taps into a phenomenon called the “uncanny valley”—a concept in robotics and AI that applies eerily well to toys.

The uncanny valley is the idea that things that almost look human—but not quite—create a sense of discomfort. Think ventriloquist dummies, porcelain dolls, or animatronics with dead eyes. Labubu doesn’t try to look human, but its grin mimics emotions we recognize, just in a way that feels… wrong.

That never-blinking stare. That maniacal smile. The joy in its expression that doesn’t match the rest of its vibe. It makes you question its intentions, even though it’s just a toy.

Psychologists also argue that Labubu represents repressed chaos. It’s a combination of childhood innocence and chaotic mischief—something that doesn’t follow the “rules” of normal toys. And our brains? They don’t like that ambiguity.

Children might find it funny or harmless, but adults pick up on the darker undertones. After all, it looks like it wants to whisper your secrets at midnight.

Urban Legends, Hauntings, and “Cursed” Labubu Dolls

As with anything remotely creepy that goes viral, the horror stories followed.

People have started claiming their Labubu dolls moved during the night. Some say they heard scratching from the shelves, or that their doll fell—but in a way that couldn’t be explained by gravity. Others swear the doll’s face changed, ever so slightly.

A few TikTokers even claim they got sleep paralysis after placing a Labubu on their nightstand. One user said, “I woke up and saw it smiling right in my face. I swear I didn’t put it there.”

It’s all anecdotal, of course. Probably just internet exaggeration. But Labubu’s unnerving design makes it the perfect vessel for such stories.

There’s even a niche horror subculture that’s begun modifying Labubu dolls to make them more grotesque—dripping with fake blood, stitched mouths, or painted demonic eyes. It’s becoming a full-blown aesthetic.

Should You Buy One? Or Should You Run?

Let’s be honest—Labubu isn’t for everyone.

If you love horror, dark art, or toys that make people stop and stare (or scream), then Labubu is your jam. It’s rebellious. It’s different. And it’ll definitely spark conversation.

But if you’re even slightly superstitious, sleep light, or once had a traumatic experience with a Furby… maybe steer clear.

At its core, Labubu is a commentary on what we call cute. It dares to be ugly, odd, and joyful in its own disturbing way. And that’s why it’s both loved and feared.

The Monster You Invite Home

Labubu dolls aren’t haunted (probably). But they are haunting.

They challenge our comfort zones, blur the line between toy and terror, and ask: Why do you only love what’s pretty? In a world where everything is filtered and friendly, Labubu shows up with crooked teeth and wild energy.

And for some… that’s the scariest part of all.

Would you let a Labubu doll into your house? Or would you toss it out the window the first time it smiled at you the wrong way?

You decide.

UK Authorities Warn Against Dangerous Fake Labubu Dolls

Authorities across the UK and beyond are warning parents and collectors to be cautious as a surge of counterfeit Labubu dolls has hit the market. Often marketed as affordable alternatives to the popular designer toy, these fake versions—sometimes labeled as Lafufu—are now being flagged as potential safety risks.

Rochdale Trading Standards in Greater Manchester issued an alert after discovering a batch of imitation dolls that failed basic safety tests. The dolls, which imitate the famous Labubu character from Pop Mart’s collectible “The Monsters” series, have loose parts that can easily detach and pose choking hazards, especially for children under the age of 3.

According to the Angus Council, several of these fakes were being sold at toy markets and online platforms under slightly altered brand names or with incorrect labeling. Officials urge consumers to purchase from verified retailers only and check for authenticity markings such as correct packaging, holograms, and manufacturer information.

Confusion Grows Between Labubu and ‘Lafufu’

Fans and casual buyers are struggling to distinguish between real Labubu dolls and their cheap knock-offs. Online forums and social media have exploded with side-by-side photos, tips, and memes mocking the growing confusion between Labubu and Lafufu.

Retail experts say counterfeiters are getting more sophisticated in copying the original design, from Labubu’s signature mischievous smile to its signature ears and accessories. However, subtle differences in color, finishing, and materials give them away.

“Some of these fake dolls are so convincing that even experienced collectors have been fooled,” said a Pop Mart spokesperson. “But most fakes use low-quality paint and plastics that don’t meet safety standards.”

Israel Maintains Ban on Baby Milk Entry into Gaza

Websites like DNA India have published guides on spotting fake Labubu dolls, listing differences like misspelled packaging, missing QR codes, and incorrect logos.

Parents, Collectors Urged to Stay Vigilant

Health and safety agencies, including Trading Standards UK and local councils, are advising the public to remain alert. Parents, in particular, are urged not to give unverified dolls to children due to safety risks.

Parade Magazine highlighted growing concern among parents who unknowingly purchased fake Labubu dolls online for birthdays or holidays. Some reported that pieces like eyes and ears fell off after just a few hours of play.

The original Labubu dolls, part of a high-end collectible range, are not designed for rough handling or play by toddlers. But the rise of fake versions marketed as “kid-friendly toys” is misleading many.

Pop Mart has said it is working closely with authorities to trace counterfeit operations and has issued its own warning on social media, encouraging fans to verify sellers before buying.

With fake toys posing health risks and undermining trust, the battle between Labubu and Lafufu is no longer just about brand protection—it’s about consumer safety.

Drake Drops Surprise Track ‘What Did I Miss?’ Amid Kendrick Fallout

Drake has made a dramatic return to the center of the rap scene by surprise-releasing a new track titled “What Did I Miss?” during a livestream event called Iceman: Episode 1. The Toronto rapper premiered the track while cruising around in a mysterious “Iceman”-branded van, stirring buzz online with the cryptic setup and aggressive lyrics.

The livestream featured Drake walking through a warehouse before hopping into the van and unveiling his newest single. Fans quickly flooded social media with reactions, many speculating about the meaning behind the “Iceman” persona and the message in the lyrics. The associated website (the-iceman.com) was still inactive at the time of release, adding to the mystique.

More than just a track, the single appears to be a calculated response to the rap beef that dominated headlines earlier this year—his high-profile feud with Kendrick Lamar.

Drake Fires Back at Former Allies and Kendrick Lamar

In “What Did I Miss?”, Drake doesn’t hold back. He addresses the fallout from his months-long lyrical war with Kendrick Lamar, which culminated in a string of diss tracks and Lamar’s viral Pop Out concert in Los Angeles. But instead of firing back directly at Kendrick, Drake shifts focus to those he feels betrayed him.

“Last time I looked to my right, you n—s was standing beside me / How can some people I love hang around pussies who try me?” he raps, calling out unnamed peers and friends for siding with the opposition. Another line strikes even harder:
“I saw bro at the Pop Out with them but been dick riding gang since ‘Headlines.’”

Listeners quickly caught on—Drake’s referencing people close to him who attended Kendrick’s concert or otherwise stayed silent during their beef. The shade appears to extend to NBA figures and industry insiders who may have aligned with Kendrick, either publicly or subtly, during the peak of the conflict.

Another Chapter in the Ongoing Rap Feud

The release of “What Did I Miss?” comes after Kendrick’s chart-topping “Not Like Us,” a diss track that accused Drake of everything from fake street credibility to serious personal allegations. The feud had grown so intense that it even sparked legal speculation and media think pieces. Kendrick walked away from the clash with five Grammy wins and public opinion largely on his side.

Now, with this new track, Drake seems to be rewriting the narrative. He’s not just defending himself—he’s calling out loyalty, questioning allegiances, and reasserting his dominance without directly naming Kendrick. It’s a strategic move, aimed at shaking up the industry once again.

Whether this is the end of the beef or just another round, Drake’s message is clear: he hasn’t forgotten who stood with him—and who didn’t.

As fans dissect every lyric and industry figures brace for more fallout, one thing is certain: the Iceman has returned, and he’s keeping receipts.

PMD Warns of Glacial Flood Threat in GB and KP

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued an urgent warning about possible Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs) in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) due to rising temperatures and rapid glacier melting. According to the PMD’s Research and Development Division in Islamabad, heatwave conditions combined with an incoming weather system could trigger flash floods in the coming days.

The department stressed that increased meltwater from glaciers may lead to the sudden bursting of glacial lakes, causing devastating floods in nearby valleys and low-lying communities downstream. With climate change accelerating glacier retreat in the region, the danger of GLOFs has become a growing concern for local populations.

The PMD has urged residents and authorities in the affected areas to remain on high alert. The advisory emphasized the need for constant monitoring, early warning systems, and immediate preparedness to avoid loss of life and property. Emergency teams and district administrations have been told to stay vigilant throughout the week.

Emergency Measures Urged as Risk Grows

In response to the rising risk, the PMD has asked all concerned departments to activate preventive protocols. Local disaster management authorities in GB and KP have been instructed to monitor vulnerable glacial lakes, ensure timely communication, and prepare evacuation plans for at-risk communities.

The possibility of GLOF events is highest in northern valleys such as Hunza, Ghizer, Skardu, Chitral, and Swat — areas historically vulnerable to such incidents. The PMD has warned that flash floods could wash away roads, bridges, homes, and disrupt access to essential services if immediate precautions are not taken.

The growing threat of GLOFs comes as a stark reminder of Pakistan’s vulnerability to climate change. Environmental experts continue to call for investment in long-term adaptation strategies, especially in mountainous regions where the impact of melting glaciers is becoming more pronounced.

Rain Forecast for Muharram, Urban Flooding Possible

In a separate weather alert, the PMD has forecast heavy rainfall on the 10th of Muharram in several major cities. Areas expected to receive intense showers include Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Nowshera, and Peshawar.

The Met Office has also warned of possible urban flooding in low-lying areas of Punjab due to the heavy downpour. City administrations have been urged to clear drainage systems and stay prepared to handle water accumulation.

Meanwhile, most parts of Sindh and Balochistan are likely to remain hot and humid, although light rain or drizzle is expected in Karachi and Hyderabad, particularly during early morning and night hours.

As Pakistan faces both glacial and urban flood threats in different regions, authorities are racing against time to prepare. Citizens are advised to stay informed through official channels and follow safety instructions to avoid risk during this critical weather period.

Texas Flash Floods Kill 24, Dozens of Campers Still Missing

At least 24 people have died in sudden flash floods that struck Texas Hill Country early Friday, with dozens more still missing, including nearly two dozen girls from a summer camp along the Guadalupe River. The devastating floods followed intense overnight rainfall that overwhelmed riverbanks and swept away vehicles, homes, and entire campgrounds.

According to local officials, the water rose as fast as 26 feet within an hour. The National Weather Service issued a rare flash flood emergency, warning that the event had escalated faster than previous forecasts suggested. Many residents and vacationers had little or no warning before the torrents arrived.

Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha confirmed that recovery and search teams are working around the clock. “We’re still hoping for miracles,” he told reporters. “But the damage is widespread, and some areas are still inaccessible.” The community has been left in shock as families wait for updates on missing loved ones.

Camp Mystic Girls Among the Missing

One of the hardest-hit locations is Camp Mystic, a well-known Christian girls’ summer camp located on the banks of the Guadalupe River. Authorities say that around 23 campers are still unaccounted for, though many may simply be out of communication due to power and network outages.

The camp, which typically hosts around 750 girls during summer sessions, was caught by surprise as floodwaters surged into the valley. Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos, with camp counselors and staff rushing to move children to higher ground. Some managed to escape using canoes and rafts, while others clung to trees and rooftops.

Emergency personnel, aided by helicopters, boats, and drones, are continuing search operations across riversides and into wooded areas. “We’ve got eyes in the sky and boots on the ground,” said Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick. “We’re doing everything we can to bring every child home safely.”

Israeli Air Strike Kills Palestinian Doctor and His Children in Gaza

State Declares Emergency as Rescue Expands

Texas Governor Greg Abbott declared a state of disaster across 15 counties, mobilizing over 1,000 emergency responders and more than 800 vehicles to the flood zone. The Texas Department of Emergency Management has also deployed specialized urban search-and-rescue teams.

Red Cross shelters have been opened for displaced families, and first responders are going door to door in flooded communities to account for missing persons. Residents in surrounding areas are being urged to avoid travel and stay away from swollen rivers and creeks.

As search and rescue efforts continue into the weekend, meteorologists warn that more rainfall is expected, increasing the risk of additional flash floods. Meanwhile, environmental experts say this tragedy highlights the growing impact of climate change on extreme weather patterns in the region.

The situation remains fluid. Families are praying for reunions, while authorities focus on locating the missing and preventing further loss of life. The tragedy has shaken the state—and the nation—as Texas confronts one of the deadliest natural disasters in recent memory.

Israeli Air Strike Kills Palestinian Doctor and His Children in Gaza

An Israeli air strike has killed Dr. Mousa Hamdan Khafaja, a well-respected obstetrician and gynaecologist at Nasser Medical Complex, along with several members of his family, including his three children, in the al-Mawasi area of southern Gaza. Al-Mawasi had been designated a “humanitarian zone” by Israeli forces — a place civilians were told to relocate to for safety.

The strike hit a tent sheltering displaced families, once again raising concerns about the targeting of areas previously marked as safe. Residents and humanitarian workers have described scenes of horror, with rescue teams pulling lifeless bodies from the rubble of what was supposed to be a protected zone.

Khafaja, who had served the medical community in Gaza for years, was reportedly seeking refuge with his family when the attack occurred. Colleagues at Nasser Medical Complex expressed shock and devastation over the loss, calling his death an “irreplaceable blow” to Gaza’s collapsing healthcare system.

Israel Maintains Ban on Baby Milk Entry into Gaza

Health Workers Continue to Be Targeted

The strike on Dr. Khafaja is part of a broader and disturbing trend. According to Gaza’s Government Media Office, at least 1,580 health workers have been killed since October 7, 2023, including 90 doctors and 132 nurses. The targeting of medical professionals and facilities has been widely condemned by international humanitarian groups.

With hospitals under siege, ambulances destroyed, and healthcare workers killed or injured, Gaza’s ability to provide even basic medical care has been crippled. The World Health Organization and other global agencies have repeatedly called for protection of medical personnel and infrastructure in line with international humanitarian law — appeals that have largely gone unheeded.

The loss of trained professionals like Dr. Khafaja compounds the crisis, as remaining healthcare workers operate under extreme conditions, with limited supplies, constant threats, and massive patient loads.

Al-Mawasi’s “Safe Zone” Status Under Question

The targeting of al-Mawasi, declared a humanitarian zone by Israel, has sparked intense outrage and confusion. Thousands of displaced Palestinians had fled to the area believing it to be a safe haven. However, repeated strikes on so-called safe zones have left civilians questioning whether any part of Gaza is truly protected.

Human rights organizations have raised alarms over the shrinking space for civilians to shelter. With nowhere left to run and every designated zone vulnerable to attack, the population in Gaza remains trapped under fire.

The Israeli military has yet to comment specifically on the strike that killed Dr. Khafaja. However, past statements have defended strikes in civilian areas by claiming the presence of militants — a justification that has drawn scrutiny from rights groups and legal observers.

As the death toll rises and vital figures like Dr. Khafaja are lost, the international community faces growing pressure to intervene and hold accountable those responsible for targeting medical zones and humanitarian safe areas in Gaza.
