Arnab Goswami’s Hate speech against Pakistan Costs him £20,000 in UK

Karachi: UK’s media regulator Ofcom slapped a fine on Indian TV channel and fierce anchor, Arnab Goswami for propagating against Pakistan and promoting an anti-Pakistan narrative. The British media regulatory authority, on Tuesday, charged a heavy fine of £20,000 in the UK.

Republic TV received a fine in response to on-airing an episode on 16 September 2019 in which the fierce anchor and the guests used derogatory and abusive treatment of Pakistani people.

According to Ofcom, the content aired on Poochta Hai Bharat was extremely offensive and “was not justified by the context”.

Ofcom, in a verdict, stated that India’s popular Channel which was fond of airing ferocious content against Pakistan, could not comply with the broadcasting rules, in the program hosted by controversial Arnab Goswami.

Republic TV and its anchor, Goswami, largely support Indian PM Narendra Modi’s narrative.

When the show was broadcasted, Ofcom notified Republic Bharat about the complaints it had been getting against the Indian channel in “highly pejorative” remarks were used.

Karachi: The Finance Ministry, Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, says that the rate of inflation has been steadily declining for the last four weeks.

According to the statement, the Secretary of Commerce has been asked to hold a meeting with the representatives of the provincial governments and FBR so that further steps could be taken in this regard.

The finance minister said that the provincial governments should closely monitor the prices.

Pakistan: 82 more people died due to Corona

Karachi: A further 82 deaths have been reported from Corona in the country, while more than 1,700 new cases have been reported.

According to the corona statistics published on the website (covid.gov.pk) in Pakistan, 34594 corona tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours in which 1704 people were confirmed to have coronavirus while 82 deaths were reported from the virus.

According to the official portal, the corona positive rate in the last 24 hours was 4.9%.

The number of deaths from Covid in the country has reached 9474 and the total number of cases has reached 460672 while the number of active cases is 40261.

Karachi: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi strictly told the UAE leadership that Pakistan will not accept Israel until the Palestinian issue is resolved.

Karachi: NASA took to Twitter, on 19 December, to refute the claims published in the article that said, “ALERT: NASA Confirms Earth Will Go Dark For 6 Days In December 2020. 

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration aka NASA termed the reports as “hoax story” and released a warning later this week confirming that between December 16 and December 22, 2020, the world will experience absolute darkness.” The article turns out to be false.

NASA is busting the myth now. In a tweet posted on the official account of the agency yesterday, NASA said that:

Despite false reports, Earth will not go dark for six days, and we have not issued a statement with this misinformation.

COVID kills 80 more people in a day, more than 2,000 new cases are reported

Karachi: Coronavirus kills 80 people a day across the country, while more than 2,000 people have been diagnosed with the deadly virus.

According to official facts, 24,103 in Sindh, 131,428 in Punjab, 54,948 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 36,117 in Islamabad, 17,909 in Balochistan, 7,961 in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit, and 4,822 people in Baltistan has been diagnosed with the Covid.

According to the NCOC, the number of patients recovering from Corona has reached 47,405.

Karachi: Biden, who was recently elected US President, selected Ali Zaidi, a 33-year-old Pakistani national, as a “leading climate expert and longtime advisor to the president-elect,” mentioned in the press release issued by Biden’s transition team.

According to the International News Agency, US President Joe Biden has announced the appointment of key members of his Climate team, including Pakistan-born Ali Zaidi, who will serve as the White House’s Climate Advisor.

Ali Zaidi is currently serving as New York’s Deputy Secretary of Energy and Environment, but with the new assignment, he will be the highest-ranking Pakistani-American in the Biden administration.
